Hi all! How is your monday going so far?
I still can't believe that less than 48 hours ago we were basking in the sun in brisbane, and now we are wearing 5 layers again in the cold, rain here in Taiwan.. yuk.. I sooo can't wait for summer!!
sunshiney - That's fantastic news about your test results hun!! You and DH must both be over the moon!! and now for the final 6 weeks!! That really has gone fast hasn't it!
seaside - are you back yet hun?
johanna - sorry to hear you are so busy at work! I hope things calm down for you soon!
nadia - go and get your zinc levels tested! (see below!)
Welcome to all the newbies!
Hi to everyone else! I will get back into personals as they happen from now on as I really don't have the time to read back through the 2 threads since I went on holidays! lol!
So, I can't remember who asked but about the zinc tests - you can buy a bottle of the test at any chemist for around $19 or most naturopath chemist shops will do the test for you for free. We did ours for free and neither of us could taste anything at all!! So we are now on Zinc repair until we finish the bottle, and then zinc maintain after that. Apparently, Zinc is what gives sperm their tails.. So if your man has low zinc levels, chances are his swimmers are doing circular laps.. Or even if they do make it to the egg, without a healthy tail they can't penetrate the egg apparently.. I was pretty surprised to hear that but all 3 naturopaths I spoke to said the same thing. Fingers crossed that is our issue!
So, after consultation with 3 naturopaths, I am also now on a multivitamin with high levels of B6, B12 and Vit E (all essential baby vits), aswell as flaxseed oil (I am veg so wont take fishoil) and a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar before every meal to help balance the PH level in my stomach and to help improve the absorption of the vitamins I am on. In addition to my folic acid aswell.
I also need to put myself on Iron supplements aswell, as Iron is one of the few vitamins your body can actually store and not just flush out if you have enough. When you do fall pregnant the baby will pretty much suck all the mum's iron supply away, so it is thought that apparently not enough of an iron supply can lead to miscarriage/chem preganancies.. But I haven't verified that with Dr Google.
Also, be careful of any vitamin supplements that contain Vitamin A as it can lead to birth defects if in doses over 2000mcg. My multi only has 40mcg so I am okay but please check your supplements aswell!
Oh, and I was also advised NOT to take vitex unless I was being monitored by a naturopath as it can be really bad for you if you just stop taking it. You have to be monitored and weened off it apparently.
Anyway overall I learnt alot from talking to the Naturopaths and am feeling super confident with all my vitamins now. If you haven't already, I would definitely recommend talking to a naturopath! I didn't have to pay anything for my chats, I just asked at several chemists if they had a naturopath and then told them my TTC history and asked for advice.
AFM, too many changes of times and sleepless nights for me to have ANY idea when I o'ed this month, but thanks to sleeping on friend's floors, I'm pretty sure we are out this month anyway.. lol.. That will give Mr Man's sperm time to grow tails for next month! So Sunshiney, I'm joining you on a self-imposed 6 week wait!! Maybe we will plant some seeds too!
Hope you are all well!

IPS (imaginary pregnancy symptom) of the day - tired, light headed and my hands had the shakes
.......................so I had 1 chocolate muffin, 2 pieces of brownie, handful of salt and vinegar chips, 3 crackers and eggplant dip, a mini corned beef and english mustard wrap, a couple of corn chips and a cup of tea!!!
It was a suprise 50th birthday morning tea ok, I did feel better afterwards, it might have been a bit of a sugar low, maybe I overcompensated.
Baby dust to every one

Thanks Sunshiney now I'm starting to wonder what if! Af is still not here. Maybe the need to go the toilet all the time is a sign? Sometimes my cycle is 27, not 26 so I'm still not doing a test till tom. I dont have any at home anyway. So will have to wait till tom and see. What if, what if. We only BD twice this month because of my UTI so I find it highly unlikely but now I'm just wondering and hoping! Especially seeing we just saw the FS surely not. Not after 18months! And I've been on antibiotics. I have to got to vets tom at 12 so if AF still isn't there then I will go and get a test. XX

QUOTE (njs4dks @ 12/03/2012, 09:20 AM) KateyDee i would do another opk this afternoon just don't drink anything for 2 hours b4 the opk Took 2 OPK's today, and they are really faint and definitely negatives. So I got positives on Saturday (all throughout the day) and a positive on Sunday morning (but by Sunday night it was negative again). I really can't wait for tomorrow morning to see what my temp does! I had a temp drop on CD 17 and now on CD 19 my fertile CM has dried up, so I'm wondering if I O'd on CD 17. The only problem with that theory, is that I only got my first +OPK on CD 17, and even though my temps have risen since then, they haven't risen above my highest temps in my pre-ov phase... they are rising, but slowly. Not the sudden jump in temp that I had expected.

Thanks Katey and Fingers Crossed for the response! I tested again this evening & indeed only had the control line..a couple of minutes later I had a very faint second line however, definitely wasn't there the other day. Is there typically a length of time between very faint and definitely positive? I was thinking 'okay, so maybe I'll ovulate next week instead of this week because it's so light' ..but really I have no idea! Chief Pancake Maker - your food post made me laugh! I'm really bad like that, I'll get low blood sugar and then constantly snack till I want to spew! DF went for a job interview the other day & found out today that he got the job! Very happy, as it's closer to home for him and more money than his current position that can go straight into the baby fund haha!! Hope everyone has a good week

I was thinking 'okay, so maybe I'll ovulate next week instead of this week because it's so light' ..but really I have no idea! It really varies for each woman. Some women get a steady, gradual rise in darkness until they eventually get their positive. While other women get faint positives all month long which are all the same darkness, until BAM they get a sudden positive one day. And other women, get variations - one day they get a fairly dark test line, the next day it's light, the next day it's darkish again, there is no pattern. And if you're like me, you'll get a different pattern each month For instance, this month mine started out about half as dark as the control line, then gradually got lighter and lighter, then I got a nice darkish one (but not dark quite enough to be positive), then they got lighter for a few days again, and then all of a sudden I got a positive one day.
