Hi,

Has anyone tried the reboot juice diet in the doco Fat sick and nearly dead? http://www.jointhereboot.com/index.php?lang=au

I only saw part of the movie when it was on tv a month or two ago, but am interested in the health benefits of including more fresh fruit and veg and less processed food. Mainly more energy, better skin and a stronger immune system. I want to try and change my diet because I know my diet is a big part of why I feel so tired and lethargic, but I'm often too tired to do anything about it if that makes sense. Its a vicious cycle and poor excuse I know. I think only drinking juice would be too extreme for me, but I'm thinking of trying to incorporate juice and soups into my diet to up my intake of fruit and veg and cutting down on processed food, dairy and refined sugar. Now I need a plan... anyone interested in doing some kind of healthy eating challenge? I seriously need help staying motivated!

I watched that doco recently and was so inspired, not only by Joe but also by that truck driver who lost the most amazing amount of weight, his determination was incredible and it certainly paid off in the end, I couldn't believe it was the same person!

Anyway both DH and I said afterwards we would give it a go one day, and it was just today that he said we should eat the rest of the meat we have in the freezer and then start the diet - I don't think we'll do it exclusively either, well maybe for a week (if we make it!!) but then try to have at least one juice per day. I've been really good and lost about 12kgs in the last 5 months but still need to lose another 5 - 8 so I'm thinking this might be a good way to do it.

So I guess we'll be joining you in a week or so!

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur.
Juice is pointless. Takes out the fibre you want to have in your system. Especially fruit juice - it's then all the fruit sugar with none of the fibre (which is essentially the cure to the poison).

If you want to eat raw food, then eat raw food.

Also, not all juicing is the same. It pays to do research on juicers and the different types of extraction. It is also important to still chew when juicing as it kick starts the digestive enzymes needed in the stomach.

However, I would also be looking to supplement with raw eating. There is a great website Raw Pleasure that I think would be worth for you to look at too

I watched this before Xmas and it really inspired DH and I. We don't have a juicer and I am a fussy eater so we decided to transition first to eating whole natural real foods. For the last 3 months I have been so proud when I open up our fridge. So much green food. I have gone down from 56kg to 54kg - although it was never about weightloss for me , more about feeling healthy and energetic less bloated etc.
Since the transition I don't get that after lunch heavy tired feeling anymore as I am eating for example, baby spinach capsicum salad with some beef slices (used to eat white bread sandwiches which didn't have much nutrition). We try to have green on half of our plate for every meal.
Still considering the reboot juice but would probably just to increase the nutrient intake so maybe just in place of breakfast Will wait and see. Good luck.

I don't "juice", but do regularly whizz up fruits and/or vegies in my Thermomix and add a bit of water and ice. Such a filling meal on the go. Plus, then you are getting the fibre, which leaves you feeling full, as well as getting a lot more nutrients.

I love trying new and weird combinations original.gif

I have been doing it for a few weeks and it is brilliant!

I have always struggled to loose weight and then I saw the documentary so thought I would give it a go as I also have urticaria like joe and Phil. Anyway 4 weeks later and I have lost more weight than I did in 19 weeks with weight watchers and few fantastic.

It is not always easy and I have had a few meals along the way but it has left me lighter, more positive and healthy and feeling great. It has also changed the way I think about food and I will most likely go vegetarian after this.

I can't recemmnd it enought. Pm me if you want more info.

There is a great fsnd community on Facebook aswell for support.
