> Your eating around AF cycle

Does anyone else struggle with food around AF time? My AF is due in a week and for the past 2 days I've completely blown my calorie allowance - just about eating my daily allowance in snacks on one day! Not healthy choices either. It seems I just can't stop eating and my head isn't able to talk myself out of it, or into healthier options.

I realized that last month I had a similar blowout 7 days befor AF arrived but was fine after that including during the week of.

Usually i have at least 1 day leading up to AF where my eating seems to go crazy although in the past it's been closer to or at the beginning of AF. Usually it's just a straight chocolate craving or starchy carb craving.

Weight wise I tend to put on a kg or so during the week of AF.

Do you have days leading up to or during your AF where you struggle with food? Which days are worst for you? Anyone have any tips for combatting this?

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur.
I stay away from sugary foods, because it just makes the hormones worse. If I MUST binge, I eat nuts. I also go heavy on the pasta, but I've always loved pasta, and I don't believe that it's as bad for you as everyone keeps trying to say it is.

If I had to choose between a bowl of pasta and a block of chocolate, the pasta wins hands down - at least it fills you up and doesn't leave you craving more at the end!

Before period arrives I could inhale a horse.
I find that I nibble a lot, so I try and restrict what I can have.
If I want chocolate, I have it - but I make sure it is just 4 squares of at least 70%.
If I want crisps, I have it - but I make sure it is either a kids pack or a proper 'serve'.
And I still rely on diet jelly a lot for sweet tooth cravings and filling me up a bit.
