Hi everyone!

So I am Jane-89, I WAS JLD89 previously but for some reason I couldn't access my account one day & had to make a new one.
Anyway, just wanted to share my utterly wonderful news

I had a 20 week scan booked for this coming Monday but my partner may not have been able to make it then due to his work & so I took a chance to see if I could rebook it for yesterday (Thursday) & lo & behold I was able to get in. A blessing in it's self

We were keen to know bubs gender but didn't mind if we couldn't find out, nor did we mind either way what bubs is. We have a 3 year old daughter & chose/wanted to not know her gender. My partner swore she was a boy when I was pregant with her, so he was keen for bubs to be a boy but would love a girl just the same.
My partner hadn't arrived yet as the ultrasound technician was running early & she was doing all the routine stuff & the begun checking the bladder & said "oooh" & quickly told me that I could empty my bladder as I was too full &. Anyway right at the very end of the scan she showed us bubs gender, more like bubs cooperated & showed us it's bits...she showed us 2 different shots & it is VERY noticeably...A BOY!!!!!!!!
I was a little aprehensive to get excited as I know they can get the gender wrong so I asked her if she was sure. The lady laughed & said to us, "Here, this is bubs tummy & that is his umbillical cord coming straight out & then up, & this is his bits again. There is no mistaking his umbilical cord for his bits, he's 100% boy! I saw his bits when I was checking his bladder & said 'oooh' because I didn't want to tell you without your partner. Congratulations!". At that point I looked at the smile on my partners face & just burst into tears. I am so utterly wrapped! We are so excited! He is such a blessing to us! I am so greatful.

We have told our parents & very close friends, they are like family to us anyway. His parents started saying "Good you have a pigeon pair, so you don't need to have anymore now!" my mother in law was shocking to me when she found out I was pregnant with our daughter & she was kind of the same this time around. Honestly I have always wanted 4 but my partner wants 3 & HE said to his mum "No, we might have just one more! But maybe when this bub is 5"

My partner wants to keep it a secret from everyone else until he is born, but I am bursting with so much excitement that I just HAD to share with all of you mumma's to be

Congratulations! How exciting, we find out tomorrow (fingers crossed) and while I don't care either way, I know my DH would really like a boy too (we already have a girl). Come on tomorrow!! You've made me so totally excited :-)

Congrats so much! We also found out the gender at the last ultrasound and are expecting a boy. (This is our first though.)

While I'm the same as your partner and wary about telling other people we know in real life, I'm also like you in thinking that online forums amongst strangers is fair game! It does help to keep that excitement at bay so you don't blurt it out in face-to-face conversations if one of you is trying to keep it under wraps.
