I just bought some vitex to help increase my 11day luteal phase. I am 4 DPO. Should I start taking it now? Or wait until next cycle? And do I take for my entire cycle?
Thank you!!!!!! rolleyes.gif

I dont know what to say V's Mummy i thought it was going to fix my cycle BUT i think its actually delayed O. Im at CD18 today and usually O CD18 or 19 and i havent had any +OPK yet sad.gif

To be honest i think a 11 day LP is probably enough mine on the other hand are less than 10 days. So if i were you i wouldnt take it at all.

I'm wondering this as well.

I only have 9 day luteal phases, and I've been told to take vitex to help lengthen my phase...

I took it daily and throughout the whole cycle based on advice from my Acupuncturist/Nutritionist so I would start it now.

I've heard so many conflicting reports on when to take it.

Some say the whole cycle, some say only AFTER ovulation and some say only BEFORE ovulation.

I've heard that it's not good to take if you're pregnant, so it's been suggested to me to only take it until ovulation incase you fall pregnant. Once you get your period, start taking it again.

I'm taking it to hopefully bring on ovulation a bit earlier (I have a short luteal phase, I ovulate on day 19 of a 28 day cycle) so I'm hoping by taking it from CD 1, that it will bring my ovulation day forward to day 17 or 18 at least.

I start tomorrow original.gif

Katey dee- I read your other post. :-). Just wanted to let you know my cycle was exactly the same as yours. O on cd 19 of 28 day cycle. Then I started having acupuncture twice a month and bam! 11 days in the first cycle of acupuncture and the same ever since ( I have it once a month now.)
I've decided not to take the vitex just yet. My acupuncturist and my gp ( i saw both yesterday) both said it wasn't really necessary that 11 day luteal phase is fine. :-)

I would not self-prescribe herbal remedies.
