Random letters throw me really badly sometimes. I was talking to a Samiul the other day and saying what an idiot I was for stumbling over his name the first time I read it. He said it's something that happens all the time and people always start to say Samuel and stop halfway through. He doesn't mind, he's used to it.

And the other one that gets me badly is Danyiel. Even though I now know this is a boy, I still hesitate over whether I should be saying Daniel or Danielle.

Something further removed from the original like Ellyvia is actually easier to work out.
