My Partner has been offered a job within his company which is based in Kilmore.

Does anyone know much about the surrounding area for schools (daughter in prep) and daycares (2.5yo).
I would also like to know which areas to steer clear of and good areas to live. We will be renting.

In Kilmore you have 2 primary schools, St Patricks or Kilmore Primary. St Patricks was (and from what I can gather still is) hard to get into unless you are a practicing Catholic - they feed directly to Assumption College which is very popular. In the surrounding district other primary schools are Wandong, Willowmavin, Wallan, Broadford and Tooborac. I haven't lived in the area for about 6 years and all schools have grown considerably in that time, the demographics of the area has also changed too.

Hop on to the myschool website for a bit of a start.

As far as where to live, when I was in the area the Mannagum estate was Kilmore's best area. Nice and leafy and blocks were bigger than average.

I've just moved to wallan. My son goes to school in melb due to our work, so I don't know much about the schools. We didn't have a problem getting a short lease out here. There are a lot of nice new units available and new homes around $350
