Well just wanted to say that I just gave myself the first Gonal-F jab tonight of my first IVF cycle, so I am now officially an IVFer. I feel really proud of myself. It has been such a journey to get to this stage.
And the jab wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I used to have a terrible needle phobia (fainting, sweating, week legs, fuzzy vision, fuzzy hearing etc. after any jab) but I have cured myself of that over the last 18 months. So many jabs and blood tests. I feel ever so grateful that this technology and medical care is available. We would have been at the end of the road otherwise. I am also really grateful for the support available in this forum. Without it I am sure I would feel quite scared but I don't feel alone at all. |

Well done!
I didn't do IVF, but did have to give myself trigger injections for IUI. To be honest, I found it quite empowering that I was able to do something hard like inject myself. You should feel proud of yourself. I hope your first cycle is a success

Well done! The first is the hardest.
If you are on Orgalutran antagonist ice yourself for 10 mins before injecting |

Well done. I didn't think I could do it either so I had my husband give my my first injection. He was s o worried about hurting me that he did hurt me!!
I took over after that and it was easy, I've done it in the car while driving and locked in the storeroom at work (Actually that was my trigger injection when timing was paramount)! Good luck on your IVF journey. |

Congrats! I'm probably going to start mine at the end of this week, once I've had the blood test after taking Synarel for nearly two weeks. I'm a bit scared, but your post has boosted my confidence. Wishing you all the luck in your first cycle.

Great work
Froyo - do you find the icing helps? When I've iced before Orgalutran it just seems to make the muscle tighten even more |

Oh well done!
It is a bit exciting isn't it? You feel like you are really 'doing something'...! Best of luck with the cycle. |

Well done! As others have said - the first is the hardest!!!! It's the big hurdle to get past - you'll be fine with the needles now!
I didn't find the orgalutran injections any worse - except if it came straight out of the fridge, it bruised. So I just remember to take it out an hour or 2 before and then it was just as fine as the Gonal F :-) Good luck! xox |
