I have read all the Paullina Simons Kindle books available through Amazon and I would like some recommendations for books which are equally as good and keep you riveted.

Hey MSD, have you tried Kate Morton? Aussie author (from Brisbane I think?) and her books are fabulous.

Thanks 71Cath. What is the genre of her books, because I am not really an avid reader of Australian books, so are they set in Australia or elsewhere?

I really like joy dettman, she is Aussie too but her novels are all well written and captivating. Dont know why the Aussie setting should turn you off.

I prefer books set in the U.K. or Russia and maybe U.S.A. but if I read about one more gum-tree and one more drover/stockman - I will slit my wrists. My DH is a retired Stockman/Drover and we have Slim Dusty coming out of the woodwork around here and I prefer dogs to horses and I prefer Andrea Boccelli to Slim Dusty and Tex Morton.

LOL MSD, no they are not really about drovers, more like a mystery - at least one is set in the 1920's I think and keeps skipping back and forth.

I am going to order "The Shifting Fog" by Kate Morton next time I go to Amazon to look for a Kindle book, as the sample looked good, so thanks ladies. I knew someone would give me some great hints.

Ok there are some joy dettman ones that may not suit, they're really interesting though so if you happen to get your hands n one at least read the blurb.
I love margaret Atwood too, nothing like paullina Simons but she has a wide range of premises and I have liked everything I've read, the hand maids tale And oryx and crake were standouts. |

Have you signed up to Pixel of Ink? I've found lots of interesting books through them that are free. It's handy because if you don't like them you aren't wasting any money!

I have only just started reading my first Paullina Simons book, but I think you may also enjoy Belinda Alexandra's novels. They are set in various locations (although one is set in Australia) and her writing style reminds me quite a bit of Paullina Simons.
