I made a vanilla icecream just with the thermomix using this recipe. It was really good. I halved the vanilla extract and used half a bourbon vanilla bean to give it a deep vanilla flavour.

No, because I suck at the TMX hollandaise. I can't get it consistently right. I'm about to give up on it and go back to the whisk and stove top method because I can't afford to waste anymore eggs (our hens are off the lay so every egg is precious lol).

We ended up having the salmon, potatoes and asparagus with a red wine vinaigrette instead.

Anyway, tomorrow's breakky will be eggs en cocotte done in the wood fired oven original.gif

Oh, and that ice cream recipe linked to above...I do a similar thing but froze the custard in cubes (or just chopped it with a knife). Then I would purée some fruit (mango is a fave here) and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice to accentuate the fruit flavours, then chuck the frozen custard in, give it a blitz and presto, delicious soft serve style ice cream.

Out and proud Roller Stroller wearer
I have to say since the thermomix came into our life my family has consumed so much soup it's crazy. My 18 year old is just inhaling the stuff (a bit like he does with milk). I'm making him 2lt of veg soup every second day. He's taking 500ml for lunch and then downing another 500ml between meals at some other point in the day. We have had a huge number of really beautiful tomatoes so many of them have become soup but his fav this week was corn, carrot and butter bean. Would have thought? To be honest I made it because I had a whole load of carrots taking up room in the fridge and one too many bags of corn taking up space in the freezer.

Nothing wrong with a good lashing of soup!! We are making pumpkin soup for lunch - again rolleyes.gif

In my head I cook like LucyE, but in reality there is a lot more plain, churn-it-out-to-feed-the-masses stuff going on here. At least the Thermomix makes it easy to do that! original.gif

I've got some left over Thermomix pesto in the fridge, so I'm hoping to make pesto and chargrilled capsicum scrolls this afternoon, and then make some red lentil soup, all to take for lunches during the week. I'm also making okonomiyaki for dinner tonight.

Thinking, thinking...
I've been just churning out meals lately - my children have their favourites and penalise me if I get too creative on them sad.gif .

I toss my whole TMX into the dishwasher as I was told I could when I bought it... now you've got me worried! ohmy.gif
