Good Morning everyone original.gif
I had my first check up with the OB at my hospital visit yesterday. A very long 2 hour wait, and watching everybody come and go before me, I was starting to think they had forgotten about me wink.gif everything seems to be going well, my belly is measuring at just over 23 weeks, and I heard bubs heart beat! (My favourite part)!! Bub doesnt like the doppler, kicking it every time the drs put it on my belly to find the hb original.gif However with the really srtong braxton hicks contractions I had last week, the OB thought they were a little too strong too early, and because its my 5th preg, 4th lasting, she has restricted me to no exercise, lifting, or exertion except for walking along the beach...I was really hoping to start the preg yoga. I'll have to look into it.
Hope everyone has a great day xx

Bronze???

Morning ladies!

LastOne, sorry to hear about the restrictions. Talk to your doctor about the yoga, from everything I have read/heard it is so beneficial and not meant to be straining at all so they might say it is ok! This is going to sound terrible, but I keep having this day dream that the doctor tells me no more work till bub is here! How terribly lazy of me. rolleyes.gif I think it's because I'm not loving my job right now, and am under a lot of pressure, and I think the daydream is more about having the pressure suddenly taken away more than anything else.

Can't see the old posts obviously, and my memory is like a sieve so can't remember who said what (despite only having just read it!) so will have to forgive me for lack of personals. Am loving the FB page ladies! So much easier to sneak on there and keep up to date or post a little something. My back is killing me right now, and I can't see the hospital physio (the one that works with my midwife to handle any care needed) for three weeks so relented and booked in to see one nearby that does pregnancy stuff. I've always had trouble with my lower back, but right now it seems different, like it's actually my tailbone or hips that are hurting, does that make sense??? It is so painful to sit at my desk (right now I am balanced on one butt cheek to avoid any pressure on my tailbone) but that can't be good for me surely. Desperately hoping the physio has a magic cure for me!!! I start my prenatal yoga tonight. It came so highly recommended, so am really looking forward to it.

Hope everyone is having a good day, we're on the homeward stretch for the weekend now!!! Family xxx

FamilyGirl - I get pain in my tailbone and hips too. Mainly where my femur joins into my hips. I have a twisted pelvis whether pregnant or not, so yours might be something similar. Hopefully its not SPD starting for you. Definitely get checked sooner rather than later so they can keep you aligned. Good luck x

I have the same issue! Bub keeps running away from the doppler when the dr tries to find a hb but when you put the doppler around where his feet are he'll kick at it like there's no tomorrow! I wonder why they're doing that...

What has everyone here been using in terms of stretch marks?
I've been getting REALLY horrible stretch marks underneath my boobs and they're sore and itchy all the time! I use olive oil on my belly and haven't got stretch marks yet but didn't think to use anything on my boobs to prevent them :/ silly me.

I've been using pawpaw to keep my skin soft and moist on my belly and breasts. I cannot really see the underside on my belly too well and our big mirror broke, so will be a surprise as to what's there haha
I have read a few places that creams with lanolin in them (like the type you use when breastfeeding) can help with stretch marks and sore spots, but have yet to try it.

My bubbles did the same things at my checkup, kicking the doppler and wigging away from it lol

Also discovered my bladder right at the start of the 1 hour trip home the other day...right after I had had a HEAP to drink...I think it was only due to having done some pelvic floor exercises that the trip didn't end awkwardly lol

I have been using rose hip oil after showering to prevent stretch marks. But as the ob puts it, I am still quite 'neat' so fingers crossed she won't decide to explode on me one week and stretch everything! I've heard hydration is essential as it's the underneath layers that tear. Hard when someone is using my bladder as a pillow wink.gif

I use cocoa butter or coconut oil but there isn't anything you can do to avoid stretch marks. You are either prone to them or not. But massaging your belly feels nice anyway.
