Hi June 2012 Mums!

I just wanted to start a new topic to get an idea on how much weight you have all gained now that we are half way or so in our pregnancies. Im due at the end of June and have already put on about 6kgs which im concerned about as i think its too much for this stage.

This is my 2nd pregnancy and I put on 22kgs with my first so im worried that will happen again! Im exercising much more than i did last time so hoping that makes a difference.

Anyway, just wanted to get an idea about how the rest of you are going.

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure what I weighed before the pregnancy, but at a guess I've put on about 7kg.
I wouldn't worry too much about weight gain...my mother put on about 3 times the 'recommended' amount and was a rake a few months after I was born. I told the MW this last visit and she laughed and said that nature knows what to do and not to worry too much original.gif

I weighed about 81.5 when I got pregnant and have been sitting between 80 and 82. I do eat (just having a snickers bar as I'm posting this!), my metabolism just kicks up a notch while I'm pregnant and I just don't tend to put on a whole lot of weight (plus my body has a healthy amount of reserves too Tounge1.gif)

Last pregnancy I lost 5kg due to MS in the first trimester, only gained that back by the end of the second, and by the time I gave birth was only 3kg up on my start weight. I had a 4kg baby! I figure if you just listen to your body and eat healthily during your pregnancy, your body does what it is supposed to.

I'm due early June (so about 23 weeks pregnant now). I've put on about 7 kgs so far.

I'm glad to hear that there are others here who have gained around the same amount as me. This is my first pregnancy and I'm getting wildly varying comments from people, either that I'm 'so big already' or that I look like I haven't put any weight on!

In my first pregnancy I put on 16kg and lost 10kg giving birth original.gif

My last pregnancy I put on about 20kg and only lost 5kg giving birth sad.gif
And it is a lot harder to lose the weight after the second one.

This pregnancy I started at 71kg and am now just under 80kg, so about 8-9kg so far. I am aiming to put on 11kg by the 24 week mark. And then I am aiming for another 10-15kg, depending on how close I get to 38 weeks.

I have put on 8kgs at 20 weeks.
With DS i gaines a total of 23kg and lost it all in 6 months or so.
If i can keep this pregnancy weight gain total to under 20kgs i will be happy - but im not trying especially hard or watching what i eat too much more then i normally would. My diet is a lot better now then it was when i had DS anyway - a lot less comfort food required!

I'm 22 weeks today and have put on about 6 kgs. I do have to start watching what I eat though. I've been going a bit crazy since the morning sickness has passed! blush.gif
