Seriously?? This woman is valued at 20 billion dollars.

What is she going to do with all that money if not provide for her family. The daughter is asking for a few luxuries to make her life better/easier. I think her request is perfectly reasonable. If were are talking $20,000 handbags, that is unreasonable and unnecessary, but she is not asking for cash or gifts.

Personally if I did have 20+ Billion which is a ridiculous amount of money, I would probably be inclined to give each child 1 Billion, keep 2 Billion for DH and I and give the remaining Billions to charity

This was my thinking, too. You'd need to have extremely tight contracts drawn up stating that it was to be the only amount given, ever, and that there would not be any further money to be allocated in the future regardless of need.

But that depends on how liquid the money is (I'm sure that's not quite the right phrasing, but this is all so very far out of my sphere!). Most of it is probably tied up in investments, property, shares, whatever, so may not be easily accessible in large sums.

I think to get rid of them all, and settle things once and for all, the above is what I'd do if I could.

Or, for heavens sake, she could 'pay' them $1mil each per year and she'd still have bucket loads for herself. I don't think they deserve it, but she could certainly afford it.

Wow we're OT but who pays the salaries of judges and magistrates if not governments? I don't imagine that court costs payed by complainants are anywhere near enough to cover real costs.

Love this!

I agree with the pps saying that this is not the first generation of the family to be going through similar 'problems'.

That wouldn't work though, the 20 billion is not what she has in her acc it's the company, the mine, assests not just cash.
To give 1 billion to each child and then 2 billion for her she would have to sell the mine and all her assests. From my understanding her kids got multi-million dollar trust funds, if they have burnt through their trust funds that is their own problem and should have managed their money better or had someone do it for them.

Her kids dont need secuirty I'm sorry but if the Trump kids, the murdochs, the packers, the grollo's and are better known then the Reinhardt kids and dont run around with bodygaurds I'm sure the Reinhardt kids will survive, they have so far.

Its a worry if courts can tell parents how to spend money.

Well, in that case, I change my response. If they can't manage their trust funds well enough for it to last them, then they don't deserve to be given any more.

I think their demands are reasonable, especially those requesting a bodyguard. If she doesn't have a problem with talking money from her late husband, than she shouldn't have in issue with passing it onto their children.

Depends on how the kids are managing the money, I suppose.
