Morning, i am after a bed rail to fit my sons bed (he keeps falling out) the ones at Kmart seem to work for the mattress straight on top of a bed, but we have the mattress that sits in the bed - IYKWIM?
So we need one that has a slim enough arm to sit between the high side of the bed and the mattress...

We do have his old cot mattress on the floor to catch his falls, which works ok - but we need a bed rail!

Hoping someone here has been there and done that and can share?!

Thanks original.gif

Morning!

By 'big bed', do you mean a single bed?

I don't know if this helps or not, but I saw this yesterday. It consists of inflatable tubes that fit within a fitted sheet on a single bed, so it doesn't really matter what type of bed frame you have... http://www.bambinipronto.com.au/Product-dr...guard-1226.aspx

Good luck!

We have an adjustable (fits any size bed) and portable one which we bought from Toys r Us. DD's mattress sits within the bed frame and it fits just fine

Not sure what your bed looks like, but we have one of these and it clamps over the bed edge.

hi

Sounds like the mattress is reccessed into the bed. Boori make this type of bedrail. We have one for DS.
I swear i will never buy another bed like this again. My fingers get jammed everytime i tuck the sheets in.

The Safety First mesh bed rail works with this type of bed. The hinge and rail part are about an inch thick, so squeeze between the mattress and the frame.

We use it for our DS bed.

We had a great solution - instead of a bed rail, we bought a fitted sheet that had two blow up bolsters that fitted into special pockets on either side of the sheet - so she just rolled against the bolsters and couldnt fall out.

I can't remember the brand sorry but I am sure you could google it!

We have one like this: link to ebay listing

It has been excellent. It fits neatly under the fitted sheet so it suits any kind of bed. It is just a foam bumper but it doesn't slip around and my daughter can easily climb in and out of the bed over it because it squishes when she climbs on it. Even though it came from the US we got it within about 5 days!

Someone told me once they had a pool noodle that they put under the bottom sheet on the edge of the bed.... the fitted sheet held it in place and it created a 'bump' that stopped their child falling out of the bed. Worth a try...?

Our son's bed is like yours.. We got a railing that tucks under the mattress but I used to give it a hard nudge and the mattress would give enough for the whole thing to push in and sit down on the slats. Worked a treat, tight as a drum.
