Hi there,
We're still TTC#3 but I would love to hear of any books/tools that you think would help me to achieve VBA2C. C/S #1 was due to destressed bub C/S #@ breach bub Hoping for a VB for #3 but want to make sure I am completely prepared. |

I'm not sure about the VBAC side of things, but I found Juju Sundin's Birth Skills informative and useful for preparing for a natural labour.

Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan - also try & get your hands on the Relaxation CD that comes with it. Thanks to learning the breathing thecniques and visualisations in the book ( with a practitioner though) I sucessfully had a totally natural birth which was amazing. Totally recommend hypnobirthing, powerful stuff .
Good luck, wishing you all the best. |

I 2nd 'birth skills'
For info alone I loved 'birth' although some of the stats have changed, the whole book was helpful. In all honesty I'd do some serious research into vba2c first, especially at your chosen hospital and with any other known factors (previous complications, GD, obesity for example) as the odds may be very strongly against you (I mean for medical reasons, not that you can't vb). Also - get yourself a doula or IM. Good luck |

I'm not sure about the VBAC side of things, but I found Juju Sundin's Birth Skills informative and useful for preparing for a natural labour. I had an emergency C/S with my first after being fully dilated but failure to progress. I achieved a drug free VBAC with my only preparation being this Birth Skills book. I labored at home for 12 hours and made it to hospital just in time to start pushing. Having a few pain management techniques up my sleeve made me feel more confident labouring at home. |

Gentle birth, gentle mothering is my fave book.
Also read and really appreciated Birth Skills. Yet to read, but comes highly reccomended by my 'successful VBAC' friend is 'birthing from within' |

For some reason I can't access the trading area (never used it before) but would love to know how much you would like for the Birth Skills book. Please pm - cant seem to send from my iPhone.
And yes I will be reading all the information possible on the risks of repeat c/s and weighing them against the risks of a VBA2C. I'll make the informed decision with the help of my DH, OB & MW. In the mean time I would love some support. Edited to add - biggest complication with previous pregnancies was a breach bub (c/s#2) and bub #1 was distressed so emergency c/s, No GD, not over weight etc...
