Hi All
We are about to go down the IVF path due to a few issues we are having TTC #2 and my doctor has said to go away and research fertility clinics and then let her know which one we want to be referred to.

At the moment I am tossing up between Concept and Hollywood (in Perth) - when I do a search Concept generally seems to have the better reviews but some are also quite a few years old so would like some up to date info please.

Also, at these 2 clinics which are the best doctors to see please? I am interested in others experiences. I have seen one doc at Hollywood before which I just did not like so if we went to them it would not be with him! Don't want to say his name here!!

Any feedback on others going through this currently in Perth would be great!!

(Fertility North is too far as we are SOR so probably won't be going to them at all!!)

Hi,

My question to you would be where do you work ...... fertility treatment unfortunatley can go on for some time - Concept is and has a good reputation but if your coming from south of the river then i would go that little bit furher and go to pivet, we have recently been told that they have released the sucess rate figures and that pivet is at the top.

good luck in finding the right one! biggrin.gif

We are now 2 for 2 attempts at Concept (Due July) but then everyone is different and just because the clinic has success doesnt mean it will be that easy for everyone.

It seems I can carry a pregnancy but just cant get pregnant without medical assistance.

The staff are just lovely (you feel like a friend rather than a patient) and I felt the doctors were realistic - we were given a 15-25% chance of falling pregnant. I had spoken to women in the clinic who were IVF 1st then a natural then back for number 3.

Concept are actually now doing a study on womens stress levels and how that affects their hormones and their ability to get pregnant.

My advice would be to go where you would feel comfortable (because you are going to be there a lot of mornings for blood tests), is convenient to get to and even look at the OB's they may have on staff who attend the hospital you wish to give birth at.

If you are relaxed and open minded about the process I think it makes the journey easier

Sorry to hijack your thread OP but I was wondering if people could PM me some Drs. names also?

We are going through Pivet and had our first appointment last month. The dr we saw was horrible, so insensitive and made me feel 100 times worse. We made a formal complaint and we have been referred to see a different dr next time. I'd just like some names so I can see if the dr we will be seeing next time is good. For our initial appointment we didn't have much of a wait at all to get in and now I know why because no one probably ever books in with that particular dr hence why we got in so quick!

Raffi and Pinkblue- tried PM'ing you both but EB PM'ing is the pits.

Raffi - I know they aren't on your radar screen but you are SOR so wanted to throw in my two cents - go to one of the clinics NOR. If you want more details, you can attempt to PM me. I'm at Pivet and happy there.

PinkBlue - sorry about your bad experience. I've been at Pivet for a long time. Although we haven't had success, we are a very difficult case and they've been happy to work with us and haven't given up on us. I find them to be quite progressive and when I did my research they use techniques used overseas that other clinics in Perth do not. Hopefully your IVF journey will be a short one and it won't matter. Anyway, I really like my doc there. PM me if you want to know who it is. I can't image he'd be the one that you had.

Pinkblue - sent you another PM - in case you didn't get it, that is not my FS but I know someone who sees him and likes him so far. I think you'll be in better hands this time around. Good luck!

Raffi & pinkblue - I just typed out a PM to you both but it wouldn't send. Grrr.

Basically, I second what Mountaintop said -
1. Don't go SOR
2. I would highly recommend Pivet - I have seen two different doctors there (one is my FS and other did my lap/hyst, so I saw him for pre & post appts) and I've been very happy with them both. I'm currently 5 days into a HRT FET cycle and I'm very happy with how proactive they have been in finding answers and covering all bases.

If you want more details, perhaps you can try to PM me and I'll reply.

Thanks everyone!

scorpio2010 - I only work 2 days a week in Cannington...but live near Armadale way...I know that it will be a long trek for me but i have heard that some clinics do blood tests at other locations around Perth that may be closer so then I just need to go in for scans and appt's. I have heard about Pivet too my SIL went there (didn't do IVF though) but have heard it is the most expensive and unfortunately cost is a factor. Thanks for the best wishes!

cathstash - thanks for that - yes I did consider them too but then read somewhere they didn't have as much success rate? Glad they have been great for you though!!

Lis79 - yes that seems to be my problem too - I fell and carried my DD fine but have some adhesions since having her which they think is preventing me falling again but given the right environment etc docs feel we should have success and carry no problem...glad it has worked for you and Concept have been good! Do Concept have other locations around the suburbs for doing blood tests?

Pinkblue - that is ok! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience - would be interested to hear which Dr it was...can you pls PM me the name so I know who to maybe avoid? thanks and hope you have some success soon!

Mountaintop and Mrs Kelly78 - will try to PM you - how annoying the PM hasn't worked!

Thanks again everyone!! Hope we all have some success soon!

Thanks so much for the PM's I have received....I have been doing some reading and research and based on what my doctor has said and my history it pretty much seems I have endometriosis so would ideally like a specialist with knowledge in this area - I have come across Dr Krish Karthigasu as being the man in Perth who knows a lot about this - but he is at FSS....I know some of you ladies haven't had great experiences there but has anybody had this doctor specifically and how did you find him? PM's welcome of course to keep within EB rules.

many thanks!! :-)

PS - I have called Concept today and they are sending an info pack out and will do the same tomorrow with Pivet and now maybe FSS?
