I am having a ridiculous amount of trouble getting DS to be at night all of a sudden. He would go down relatively well until a week or so ago. It is now taking up to and sometimes over an hour to get him to sleep. I am so frustrated. I know he is tired, we follow the same bedtime routine we always have.
Is anyone having similar issues, or have any advice?

I am tonight! He is screaming like I am attacking him and won't go to DH. 2 other kids won't sleep. Night from hell! DH is just doing wii fit and ignoring it all, great for some to have me time

yep same here, DS is 10 months tomorrow and has been great until this week where he is tired but keeps trying to sit or stand in cot so I have to keep holding him down then he goes to sleep and 1 minute later it starts again..

he isnt crying at all more smiling at me, its sooo frustrating!!!!

youre definately not alone, sitting with monitor in one ear now waiting for him to settle or start pulling stuff off the change table next to his cot..

Well at least I'm not the only one I suppose.
He finally gave in after 1 hour and 15 mins tonight. DH just went down the backyard and did some gardening, no me time for me either!

All this on our 9 year anniversary.... woe is me.

I could have written your post word for word OP. DD has been reaching new milestones so maybe that has something to do with it? Sorry, not much help, but it's nice to know we're not alone!

Me too. DD is 10 months next week and the past week or so she has been terrible going down to sleep. Tonight i used the sounds for silence cd which i haven't used since she was about 4/5 months old.

I had this problem a couple of weeks ago and it went on for about 2 weeks. It was around when he started really being adventurous and exploring everything. I tried so much to try and get bedtime to work, but in the end i just resigned myself to the fact that it will pass in its own time.

DH and I just used to alternate who would go in and try to get him to sleep. It was so frustrating though because he was tired, he just wouldnt go to sleep!!!!

He is back to his normal snoring self settling cuteness.

Yes same for us too lately. I think there is a wonder week(s) around now.

I got sick of trying to settle her when she won't go to sleep and/or is crying. So I just bring her out into the lounge with us, have it nice and dark, and DH plays with her quietly while we watch a little TV. Then when she starts to get cranky, usually after about 20 minutes, I take her back and try again, he usually settles then. Much less stressful for us all!

I never have the TV on when she's awake by the way, just on these occasions

Take turns with your husband to put him to bed.
In our house we only bath our 1yr old every second day so the bath nights I do the bed time, the off nights he does. It's not fair (I think) for one person to battle over and over night after night while the other one skives off and does what they want.

My boy went through this at about the same age - lasted about 3-4 weeks for us and was about an hour every night of going in, cuddle, putting him down, crying, cuddles, sometimes more stories. But it did pass, and he is now gone back to being his usual, (mostly!) easy to settle self.
