Ok we're down to a shortlist of 4 names:
Levi Ashton Mason Mitchell Just wondering what you would (or do, if you have a Levi) call them as a NN? I realise you don't HAVE to have a NN, but we have a Jackson who we call Jack half the time, and the other names we would shorten to Ash, Mase and Mitch. Don't like Lee and Leev sounds a bit funny too... Maybe we'd just call him Levi all the time? |

It wouldn't occur to me to call him anything but Lev (short eh sound, not "Leev," more like "Lehv") as a nickname. But I'm used to it and its instinctive pretty much as the organic NN for me.

A NN might just come about when you have him. And you might prefer those shortened versions when attached to a person. I wouldn't discount it on that basis.

My nephew, who is a Liam, gets "Lee." I imagine you could use that for Levi, too.

Well that's true - we could end up calling him "shorty"!!! I don't know why it seems weird to me to shorten one name and not the other actually... |

I prefer Mitchell and Mason, but....
I also don't think Levi needs a NN from tthe outset. Besides which, out DD's NN is not one of the two obvious choices from her name that we thought we'd use but something entirely random. |

So does my husband but I'm still hopeful I'll get my way with Levi! I think I'm overthinking the whole NN thing. I'm sure if he never gets called anything other than levi, he wont be scarred for life! |

Of the list I like Levi best and then I guess Mason?
I did know a Mitchell I once thought was dreamy when I was seven (alas, our love was not to be, he was far too old... 12... with a crush on a similarly 12 year old woman with wiles and curly hair...) but it's definitely NMS today. |
