Yep, I second the reduced hours over a certain period after spending the first 3-5 days at home. I really appreciated when my partner would come through the door at 4pm (after leaving at 9.30amish).

DH took 3 weeks off both times; it was enough.. but I'd have loved longer.

Because I am an Oztralyan and it's part of my kulcha Can we get a LOVE button in here!!!! My DH is taking 4 weeks of annual leave starting the week after im due that way if I go over (first baby) he doesnt waste time that could be spent with bub and anyway I'll be in hospital a few days and he would be SUPER board for those few days |

Last time DH Took 3 weeks and that was too much for both of us.
This time he gets a week plus the following 5 wednesdays when our DS is not in childcare. That gives me 6 weeks grace on 'no' childcare day which could be needed with a 3 year old and possible c-section. |

My hubby will take 2 weeks annual leave after the birth. he will work half days when I'm in hospital after birth then when home the 2 weeks will start.

How so? He is entitled to use his sick leave if he needs to stay home and look after a sick child once both of them are back at work after Januray. Absolutely he would be entitled to do that but I believe the tone and reference of his OP was that he intends to use his sick leave as if it were additional annual leave for him and not what sick leave is actually there for. |
