Wow, a bronze for me?
Well, I had my first scan locally here today (I'm in a regional area about 5 hours from our clinic) and got a call from the nurses this afternoon to say EPU will be Monday! I wasn't expecting it to be quite so quick (today was CD10) but am certainly not complaining - I've been starting to feel very uncomfortable, obviously my ovaries have been working hard. Because my scans aren't done at our actual clinic I haven't seen the final report but during the process the radiographer said she could see at least 7 follies in total that were 14+ and then I think she said another 8-10 that were at 10+. It's my first cycle so we weren't sure how I was going to respond to the FSH and honestly I thought they'd let them go a bit longer but apparently Monday it is?! At this stage we're looking to do transfer on Fri 4th. Fingers crossed it's first time lucky for us Hope everyone else is doing well (hugs) This post has been edited by trinity_3: 29/10/2011, 12:11 AM |

Hey ladies,
Oh Madalem you claimed the silver! I was here yesterday but only reading so didnt claim it. Now even the bronze's gone hehehe.... I had my scan this morning CD8, first scan. Left ovary about 8 follicles largest 13mm x 2, right ovary as usual a bit sleepy but 7 follicles about 10mm...so will keep stimming. Next scan will be on Mon. Should be Tues but cup day so...brought forward. EPU most likely towards end of next week. Since I still have so many follicles to catch up growing, i wonder if my two largest 13mm will self-ovulate?? I hope the orgalutran will keep them in place. BTW my lining is thick again, it is 14mm!!! I know thick is good but it is so mysterious when my AF is only 1.5 days. As usual, FN and sonographer werent at all concerned. I am still waiting for my FN to give me my hormone levels. Fingers crossed all be ok. Trinity, wow what dose FSH are you on? Are you on antagonist cycle too? That's very quick response! I think yeah average would be about 13-15 days stim but your follicles are getting large already 14+mm on CD 10. Yeah first cycle a bit experimental. Even for me at this 3rd cycle is still a bit experimental since it is my first antagonist cycle. Madalem, which day are you at? |

Mum2OneDS - I'm doing a down-reg cycle as FS thought it would be a better option due to my suspected early adenomyosis (unable to confirm even with MRI) . So I started with Lucrin then added Puregon 300 into the mix. We did our lost shots of both of them last night & trigger is tonight ready for EPU Monday morning. So all up I had 9 doses of the Puregon 300.
It's a little frustrating being so far away from the clinic because i never find out my levels & numbers etc & normally I'm really hands-on & involved with all my other medical stuff - I always request printouts of blood results etc , but as far as ivf goes I've been at everyone else's mercy & just having to go with the flow. Maybe it's good in the sense that I can't obsess over every detail but it's definitely out of the ordinary for me & a little hard to get used to. I see everyone here talking about all their numbers & i quite honestly don't have a clue for the most part the clinic just tells me the next step and that's about it. Good luck to you both, Mum2OneDS & Madalem for your scans on Monday |

Trinity, I certainly identify with your feelings. First cycle, I was just a follower...just trusting the FS and FN...second cycle, still a follower never asked much....after the second cycle I started to research and learnt many things...3rd cycle...I kept asking questions now...I have got to be thick-skinned or they wont tell anything. I just want to know what is going on. I know at the end of the day if I have a baby in my arms, I have done every bit, including the uncomfortable bits of badgering for answers...if I do not, well, I have learnt more things...
Yeah I do feel that the FS and FN hardly tell us much unless we pursue. Who will go the extra mile for us? It is just their work and they are there to get a salary at the end of the day. And we are the ones paying through our noses. You are definitely a good responder cos at CD10 and 300IU puregon, your scan results sound promising. Hope we will get our BFPs together! Madalem, at day 10 your lining is 7.9mm. I am at day 8 but my lining is a whopping 14mm! I seriously dont understand. Anyway I have seen my TCM practitioner just now for accupuncture. DH and him think that we should just leave it and have our embies transferred. I had been thinking of freezing and doing a lap before any transfer. DH seems against it. AFM I just called my bt results : LH 5.5, P4 1.4, E2 2213. FN says they are all good. Now if I didnt ask for the bt results, they wont be ringing me. And If i didnt ask her for the exact values, she wouldnt have given me. She simply said all ok. I told her I just wanted the results for my own records so she gave me. |

Hi Ladies...
Have been seeing our FS since June & on my first lot of bloodtests she stated my AMH was quite low for my age (i'm 23!) It was 8. Is it low? Is there anything I can take to improve it? TIA J |

Hi everyone
Lachlans-Mum - sorry to hear your AMH is low ... my FS said anything below 10 is considered 'low'. I found out recently that mine is 2.3 which is quite low for my age too. I read a bit about Royal Jelly and took Royal Jelly capsules leading up to my recent cycle ... it is supposed to help egg quality and I had a great result. Trinity - sounds like you have responded really well on your first cycle - here's hoping your results continue this way Have been reading the comments on trying to get finer detail from the FNs and embryologists when they call. Last cycle I had an emb'ologist who was great and told me in pretty good detail where each embie was at each day. Then when the weekend came I got one who started off with "Hi, everything is going well it looks like you will have one to transfer" and then seemed a bit put out when I asked for exact details on cell numbers etc (i pictured her rolling her eyes at me!). Its a shame we have to even ask for the finer details. I did the same when I got my bfp the other week in regard to HCG and P4 levels as I knew if I didn't know I would soend days worrying that they were low (they were both quite high Mum2 one & madalem - hope your stimming is going well All the best to anyone I've missed. |
