Hi Skittie - Sanny is great isn't he and so is his gorgeous wife, she piggy backed my 3 yr old through the Safari Park despite my insistence that she would be fine to walk.

Still stuck for accommodation - any ideas ladies, preferrably up the Legian end??

SKP1972 - in Feb we stayed at Beach Melati Apartments on Padma Utara in between the Niksoma and Ramada but not beach front. We found the pricing really reasonable and they have a range of apartments. Bali Moon Villas are also up that way as well as Hidden Garden (I think they are up to 7 or 8 now in the Legian area).

Very jealous that you are going in October - I am trying to convince DH for just the 2 of us to sneak over for a quick trip in Aug for our anniversary since the Feb trip was all about the kids biggrin.gif

Thanks Naturalgoodness was looking at the Melati apartments and the Melasti as well, will look at the other two you have mentioned as well.

Looking forward to it as I really enjoyed our last trip there, and it was nice being in Legian as it was so much quieter than Kuta and a little less full on so we could escape if we wanted to.

Hope you can convince your DH, we originally wanted to go over for our anniversary in September but everything is fully booked and high season rates so will go a month later - fingers crossed I can find us some accommodation.

Will look up the other ones you mentioned now.

Thanks

Sonia

Back in the big smoke!
Squeeeeeee!!!

We have booked flights and we are talking the kids (yes, all 5) to Bali for 17 nights in November/December!! So excited!!

I have booked Suly resort in Ubud for 6 nights for our first port of call and from there, the plan is one night at the Mara River Safari lodge to do the marine and safari park (cheaper to stay there than just to visit!!) and then on to Sanur for 6 or 7 nights - looking at Peneeda View as it's right on the beach but open to other options as long as it will fit us all in and is on the nice but cheaper side of the equation original.gif

So, after that, we have 3 or 4 nights up our sleeves and I'm thinking it would be great to stay somewhere with an awesome pool and atmosphere (read swim up bar and massages! lol). Any ideas?

I haven't been to Bali since I was 15 and I'm now 30 so everything is completely new to me and hubby has never been. We are all so very excited! Wasn't going to book flights yet but I managed to get them for $1100 for all of us return and I just couldn't pass that up!

So, hit me up with your must do's, driver recommendations (we need an 8 seater), must sees and definitely things the kids will love!

It's going to be a looooooong 7 months till we fly out I believe lol

Well, in only a couple of days, our plans have changed already!!

We are now staying at Beji Resort in Ubud for 4 nights before heading up to Lovina where we will be staying 4 nights at Bali Nibbana Resort, after that, I haven't booked anything...

We still plan on staying at the Mara River Safari Lodge so we can visit the park, do the night safari and eat breakfast with the lions at Tsavo restaurant! I think we'll stay somewhere closer to Mara River the night before that though - possibly around the volcano somewhere.

It's all so exciting!

If anyone is planning a visit to Ubud, please consider visiting Bumi Sehat- a birthing centre/clinic funded entirely by donations. It is just a few minutes out of the main drag of Ubud and run by this amazing woman, Robin Lim.

We recently visited and dropped off a bag of baby clothes and toys and the kids got to give some gifts to the newborn babies for that day.

There are many families that cannot bring home their babies from hospital as they simply cannot pay the hospital fees sad.gif. Robin Lim runs this clinic as an entirely free service, purely from donations.

I was just last night reading about Bumi Sehat!!!

I will most definitely be paying a visit with some gifts when we go over. I know my eldest daughter would love to do that with me. I'll be taking a big bag of blankets, clothes and some med supplies if I can manage it original.gif

Oooh happy to find a Bali thread!
I'm from Melb and have a bit of a Bali addiction. We've been there about 5 times in the last 18 months. We usually stay at the Dynasty because of the kids' club even though it's not really my type of place. Best place I have ever stayed in Bali was C151 in Seminyak - BLISS!!

Anyway, I've had a short trip to Bali booked for a couple of months now. I'll be nearly 7 weeks by then, so I'm trying to work out how to cope without Bintang!

Any great tips for early pregnancy in Bali? I suppose I'm a seasoned Bali traveller, so I know the normal do's and don'ts - I guess they'll be the same really.
