We do speech, ot, early intervention and swimming each week.
Op i really think you need to decided on how often you do threapy with your child, because every child is diffrent and they have diffrent needs just because someone does it each week dosn't mean you have to. You have to do what is best for your child.
That is the most important thing.

DS 5 does some ABA, several EI therapies weekly inc social skills group, OT is fortnightly and kickstart swimming weekly, though were not doing kick start this term cos were way too busy.
Ds 9 has a couple of ABA sessions per week at school and home, and speech and OT fortnightly.

Every child is different.

For us, the decision of "how much" came down to two things:

* The nature and level of our daughter's needs
* How much we could financially and logisitcally afford to do

At the height of her early intervention program (my daughter has a mild form of PDD-NOS), we were doing about 18-20 hours/week of ABA (with a heavy speech component), OT, and social skills group.

I know kids who are doing beautifully on far less, and others who are making slower gains on far more. It really does depend on the child and what the family can support.

Now, at 6 (and in full time school), my daughter does weekly OT and weekly social skills group.

Do you have an autism advisor through Autism Victoria/Amaze or someone who could sit down with you and think through the possible therapy options?
