That is gorgeous!

The thing with the gels is that you don't need a great deal of them and you'll be able to use them for later cakes original.gif

I made a similar one (google Martha Stewart rainbow cake) and just used the primary colours and mixed the rest - that way you only need to buy 3 colours. Also try Americolor gels if you are buying as they are better - not sure if cheaper tho.

Red + yellow = orange
Yellow + blue = green
Blue + red = purple

I heart Ari Gold
Prizzy made this one - she may come in and have some ideas for you.

I would use regular colouring to save costs - or just buy three primary colours in the gel and mix to make more.

I've made a layered rainbow cake and about to make another one. You really need Wilton gels to get the vibrant colours.

The cost to buy the colours is expensive but they last for ages. Promise you won't have to buy more for ages.

Good luck. cool.gif

I made a rainbow cake for Liam's 3rd birthday, the colours maybe weren't quite as intense? But still impressive enough! Here's a slice of it:

I just used the colours from supermarket- mixed to get purple and orange original.gif
