Thanks lovelies. happy.gif

I have to work to lose now (and I'm really lazy, so I hate that now my loss relies on whether or not I exercise, food seems to play no part anymore... lol), and weight loss has slowed a lot because I think my body is getting close to a weight it'll be happy to maintain... and I've got some gross saggy bits, but it's much better to have saggy bits than fatty uncomfortable bits.

Tkm, I think a lot of people get really down not long after surgery (though not many have the liver issues... that sounds horrible. What happened?)... you get all swollen and it hurts like hell to eat post-op, and you're like, "OMG am I going to live on 3 sips of liquid a meal for hte rest of my life?!" and freak out. I know I regreted it for a while, though I never vocalised it... for fear of people going, "Yep, told you so." But NOW... well, now, obviously, I love it.

Best decision ever really. You'd pay more for a new car that'll last you 10 years... this is something that will last me for life and will probably EXTEND my life too... all for a few thousand. Definitely something I'd recommend to anyone eligible (generally have to have a BMI of 40 or 35 with issues like diabetes etc) and who has tried to lose weight on their own and failed a million times already. Only diet I've never failed tbh... I guess because I have no choice in the matter. lol.

Ollies-mum, I'm not at a weight I want to maintain yet, but my dietician did tell me that when I get there, I'll record what I eat for a few weeks and then we'll figure out how much extra I need a day to maintain rather than lose. She said it might just mean having a small milkshake daily or something...

That's 31kg between the two. original.gif

Thank you! You look fantastic. Very elegant. Are you accustomed to your new look or is your mind still lagging behind?

It's kinda like being pregnant in reverse I suppose - when I was pregnant I wouldn't consider my massive belly so would constantly bang it into things... whereas now, I just think I'm going to not fit somewhere, when I can actually fit quite easily. original.gif

May the cat eat you and the devil eat the cat.
I still cook. It didnt fill me with joy much in the beginning but now Im more militant about portion control for the kids.

I cook a lot healthier, that's for sure.

Erica, my husband watched me struggle with the band so he was happy for me to go down the sleeve route.

Maintaining? It's funny. It's harder for me to maintain than it was for me to lose.

I maintain by making sure I eat more. I also snack on nuts and indulge in higher calorie foods.

I have regular blood tests and take vitamins. My only real hassle is that plain water doesn't go down very easy!

Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to
PW, thanks for replying. i was wanting to hear from you because you mentioned earlier in the thread that you followed your dieticians advice to the letter.

It's sad, I've been overweight for the last 19 years. I lost 27 kilos on duromine and have put most of it back on again. I'm just sick of feeling like I'm the 'token fat friend' everyone has.

Ive followed the rules very strictly! I had a god awful time with the band and I didn't want to risk any health issues.

Honestly though, best thing Ive ever done. Highly recommend it. Changed my life. I'm so healthy now. Was so sick of being overweight! But didn't have the fortitude to fix it myself.

Wow PE you look amazing, I love the cute cardie!

Erica, I still cook for DH and the kids although I can be a little lazy at times.

I haven't changed so much what I am cooking as it has always been healthy just too much of it.

I also haven't been on a diet a such just eating the same but a lot less. I find that I will stay the same weight for a few weeks and then it will drop. For about a month I stayed at 82kg and now this week I have dropped to 78/79kg.

I have already got to my target of 80kg which was my wedding weight and I am comfortable with this size but always had 75kg in my mind which is in the middle range for my height of 178cm. I think if I get lower than that then I will be too thin...my coccyx is already killing me!
