No rules here - although I hate sexually coded stuff on little kids (like string bikinis on 4 year olds and that sort of thing), otherwise all bets are off. If you love it, wear it, and if you have the confidence to pull it off then all the better.

Am I supposed to be wearing one-piece bathing suits now? I'm over 40, FTR.

I also wear short shorts - not a*se-skimming ones with the pockets dangling out like I saw several girls in today - but certainly a long way above the knee!

I also sometimes wear kaftans, but only on Tuesdays as a rule.

Am I doing it right?

is it only a dream that there'll be no more turning away?

And older (70+) wearing Lycra is also a bit wrong.
What are you supposed to swim in - a burqa?

As a pear shaped lady, everuthing's below the knee for me, and has been since my teens. Short hair is easier to look after and thigh-high boots and catsuits require too much baby powder to get them on.

I don't care about age appropriate dressing but I do think everyone who is out of nappies should make sure they have finished getting dressed before they leave the house!

Last week I saw 3 girls who forgot to put their skirts on... seriously, it's the only reason I can imagine that you would be wearing pantyhose and a top that does not cover your bottom!

No, Aine, kaftan day is Friday. And only after 5.

Where what you like, when you like, at what age you like, and how you like. That's my philosophy :-D That's what makes the world such a unique and exciting place. Imagine if we all wore buttoned up pants and shirts tongue.gif

ETA I think the Kawaii look/Japanese fashion trend has a good grip on this concept.

I'm going to go with size appropriate as another PP said. I like my curves, but there are some things I *can not* wear.

My MIL is all about "age-appropriate". She's almost 60 and often says "oh that's nice, but I couldn't wear it..." I think it's good that she's conciously not trying to look younger than she is, especially since she is quite skinny and could get away with it.

My dad is almost 50 and was telling me today he doesn't want to try to look younger. He wants to "dress his age".
