I often hear people saying you are either too old or too young to wear such and such. I don't always agree with an age limit, but there are some things I think can look silly if not done well. For example, t-shirts with slogans on older ladies, and really long hair on women over 50 IMO are generally best avoided. Also, I don't really like summer shorts above the knee on anyone over the age of about 35 ( then again, I don't really like shorts full stop )

Do you have rules ?

No, I don't have rules, it's none of my business what others wear or how they do their hair. You've got some pretty strange 'rules'.

I am into age looking appropriate - i.e. if you are as old as Elle McPherson and look like her you can get away with long blonde hair and sexy bikinis! biggrin.gif
I am more into weight/size appropriate - I have a big a$$ and am fully prepared to buy the right size to fit it. For me, no shorts but 3/4 pants are fine - no kankles here. No short skirts if you have fat thighs and cellulite - haven't worn since I was ....a much younger and fitter woman.

I hate to see bigger gals try to shove their derriere into pants/skirts that are 2 sizes too small and delusional about it. sad.gif

Never forget who you are, little star
Oh yes, absolutely. I agree with your rules and raise you adult clothing in mini versions for babies/toddlers/kids.

Also, not 'age appropriate' relevant but I don't believe in trackies, except in very limited exercise scenarios (and removed as soon as exercise is completed).

I dont think its got much to do with age, its all about how you wear things that make them appropriate/inapppropriate.

And then there are those things that no one should wear ph34r.gif , but I guess thats also very subjective.

Omg....Are you telling me that the silk pleated Bettina Liano shorts with a belt tying in a bow at the front can't be worn ever again?

I will be 35 when I give birth!!

Why does is matter to you? I am all for those crazy ladies with their wrinkled knees enjoying the sunshine in their mid-thigh shorts. To me, they look like they have lived well and still enjoy life.

I also enjoy seeing 70 + year old couples going for swims together at my local beach, her in a bikini, him in budgee smugglers, it is just adorable and always puts a smile on my lips!

Absolutely !

mariokart - this thread is open to both sexes, and any age you please !

What about knee high boots - when are you too old to wear them ? 60 ?

eta - Oceans, a grain of salt goes with this thread.

Yes i do.

I agree with pp that toddlers and kids wearing mini things no thanks.

And older (70+) wearing Lycra is also a bit wrong.

Personally i like to think i dress my age but i may not dress as a mum 24/7.

Well, yeah. At 70 it's cute again...at 54 it's just trying to hang on. Go gracefully like Judi Dentch or Helen Mirren....
