Hi everyone!

Raindotdot, we're still on our road trip, and it's going well. The main piece of advice would be to make sure your stops are frequent. We had one stretch of almost 5 hours between stops (apart from quick lunch or toilet breaks) and Toby really didn't cope. I had to sit in the back with him and try to entertain him with my iPhone to stop him bawling. The shorter stretches (up to 3 hours) were fine.

Runnybabbit, congrats on the job!

ChantelM, I'm going back to work next Monday, so only 1 week to go. Slightly excited, mainly petrified. Will let you know how it all goes. I hope that Toby copes without me... In actual fact I think it'll be me that doesn't cope without my little boy!

Abstarini, our babies are about the same age. Aren't they just magic!

EmmaP, welcome. I look forward to hearing how you cope with twins. Are you home alone with them?

Poorginger, I hope Luke gets over his cold soon! It's so sad when they're not well, you feel so helpless.

geckogirl, I also struggle taking Toby out at night. He's not keen on sleeping in his pram or capsule, so I usually carry him around with me when out (sometimes that means doing laps around the dining table to try and keep him quiet). My advice would be, don't feel bad if you decide to leave early! People will understand.

We are almost at the end of our road trip. DH is doing a lot of the childcare, in part to give me a break while neither of us are working, and in part to prepare for next week when he will take over the role of primary carer while I'm at work. He does such a great job.
