Personally, I've never felt like swearing while parenting small children.

It's called a sense of humor, OP. Most of us have one.

It's funny because for many of us - it's true. It resonates with a place I've been in mentally and allows me to relax and know that whilst it wasn't my best moments as a parent, others have been there too.

I agree. While I haven't really used the exact words in my mind, I sure know where the author is coming from.

I haven't read it but I have to admit it sounds like it would be funny. I'm not really getting the popcorn link OP, is that why they want the kid to go to sleep? Guess I'll have to read it now... original.gif

Yer it is. It is funny.

Most parents have had a moment like this and I guess we can all relate as we read it.

I have an unsleeper who is currently cot age and that phrase already crosses my mind semi regularly. I can only imagine the frequency I'll think those words when he is old enough to get out of a bed.
As for wanting to spend more time with your kid - I need me time to recharge my Mummy batteries. I do not apologise for that.

I am thinking, therefore I exist.
I sometimes think Go the f*ck to sleep when DS wont sleep.

Keep in mind that alot of ppl that find the book funny have kids that have sleeping issues and in the middle of the night or when you've had a rough day with an over tired baby or kid you just want nothing more then to sit down and relax or sleep but when your child is screaming again you can get a little annoyed.

I don't find it funny. Personally, I think it is low brow humour.
I don't swear at my baby or even feel like it.

I did watch Noni read it. That is when I thought WTF is wrong with people that they feel like cursing at a baby because they are so angry because they can't go and watch tv, sit on their a*se and stuff themself with popcorn.
