Cool.

I will merge the two groups tomorrow (Friday night) I will create the new thread and pop links to it in both threads when I close them.

It will be good for you all to meet new members and have a few people to chat to as well.

Regards

Ali

Sounds like a good plan to merge original.gif

Congratulations to Mickey and her baby boy! James is a lovely name - my favourite brother is named James original.gif Very exciting times original.gif

Yesterday for my 2nd day of DD in care I pretty much did nothing - feel a bit guilty about it, but not guilty enough to have not done it ;P I did try and balance the bank accounts whilst sitting in bed watching movies.

musedmum, I never got a "show" with how everything went down with DD, but I have been told it's like elephant snot if that helps at all? I hope you enjoyed the mini break with the kids at the grandparents original.gif

Suze, how exciting to have a date! I hope everything goes smoothly.

Pinkie, Thanks for looking after the list, my prediction was wrong, Barry is 99.9% a girl. Miss Squid is pretty independent but is chucking some awesome tantrums at the moment. I expect that it is likely to continue for a while after Barry is born due to the lack of undivided attention - which she loves. Your routine is a good plan, I wish I was disciplined enough to do it! My discipline needs an overhaul - I used to be quite disciplined but chilled out a fair bit... too much I think - need to find a happy medium.

Jen, I hope your last day at work is smooth and not too hectic, gotta love students looking for a reason beyond themselves for their shortcomings! Glad to hear you have a supportive OB for VBAC if that's what you're after. I have agreed to booking a c/s 1 week post dates - I expect that will get discussed at the next appointment a little bit more. I hope you picked a good paint colour... I agree that orange is a bit intense wink.gif

fibi, I'm a bit jealous of your pampering, I'm glad you enjoyed it original.gif I have such a hard time justifying spending money on myself. I know I shouldn't but I do. Oh well, small steps - at least this time I am taking time for myself rather than it being about everyone else's needs.

nic, I'll be 36w on Monday and it is such a significant number in my head. I go to weekly appoinmtments and I think from that point on bubs is not considered premmy, but term. I think that goal post is what has driven the nesting!

I'd best go see what DD is up too, it is a bit quiet at the moment!

crazy cat lady - i know what you mean about feeling like you have to justify spending money on yourself, i feel a bit guilty about spending money on things like facials etc too, it's funny how we are more than happy tomake sure other peoples needs are catered for first. I was given a voucher for my birthday last year (almost a year ago!) from my lovely work buddies and i have been saving it up for a special time to use it! they are the best presents!. They gave me another one for my birthday this year a little early in case i wanted to use it early before bubs arrives, but i will save it for later down the track when i need some pampering after baby arrives! ... and your day in bed watching movies sounds awesome by the way!

i'm having a quite friday and saturday as my husband is working night shifts - the upside is thatt i get the whole bed to myself! Visiting a friend on sunday with a new baby - so excited to meet her, her name is Seren - it is the Welsh version of Sarah I have been told and means star. Such a pretty name.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

I hope they settle down soon, I have a head cold that came up today, and I don't want to try and labour whilst feeling like sh*te...

Snap! I feel rubbish too crazy original.gif And the cramps and BH have ramped it up again, although Ob was confident it wouldn't happen soon.

Pampering sounds nice - I had a massage last pregnancy and hated it! So no touching for me this time, maybe a movie next week.

Officially on maternity leave biggrin.gif

have good weekends everyone original.gif

Wow 36 weeks today. Won't be long now.

I feel so much more organised now. We bought DD a new car seat today, a maxi-rider and now have both seats installed in our car. it seems weird driving around with 2 car seats after having gotten used to just DD in there, but i feel better now knowing if bub decides to show up early we should be right.

We also just gave DD a new playset that she wasn't going to get until bub arrived, with a pram, high chair, capsule, swing etc and she loves it. She was pushing the pram around everywhere and kept asking her dolly if she was alright. Sooo cute lol.

Hope everyone else is doing well and all those having contractions have settled down again.

Nicky

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP OUT...........

To all the lovely Mums-to-be, I've been approved by Admin to ask you all this huge favor!!

I need a willing Mum-to-be to help with my studies; my aim is to find a Mum who's interested in having their newborn observed bbaby.gif

I've been searching for a Mum since March and haven't been successful sad.gif

If you're interested, please read more details below.......

My name is Rebecca and I’m a post-graduate student enrolled in an infant observation course in Brisbane. I’m a qualified Occupational Therapist and Psychotherapist with over 7 years of experience working in health services.

I’ve enrolled in the infant observation course to extend my understanding of children’s development as well as to witness first-hand the significant relationship that grows between mother and child.

In order to complete my studies I need to observe a Mother and baby for an hour session, once a week for a year……so here’s where you might come in…….

Are you a Mother-to-be who is;
• due in the next few months (July/August 2011)
• interested in supporting the ongoing education of a student therapist
• living in the South-East side of Brisbane (i.e. Stones Corner through to Redland Bay)
- - - Alternatively I have a colleague in the Ipswich area who is doing the same course - -

NOTE: The infant observation process is a completely free and gentle experience for the family; past Mothers have reported that they appreciate the observer’s reassuring presence as well as the thoughtful attention given to their child.

If this experience sounds interesting to you, please get in touch with me (via PM) and we can discuss the details of the observation or perhaps make a time to meet before your family makes the commitment.

Thanks, in advance, for your thoughts and help with this!! biggrin.gif

Rebecca
