Oooh Gold!!

mummygirl- very sorry to hear about your friends loss. The loss of a child is sad news no matter how close you are to the people involved.
beckyfreeze- congrats on your girl!
kelly1982 - sorry to hear about the bug. You arnt alone, i've had it for 2.5 WEEKS now. Tests i had done came back negative so it's a mystery. Drs have finally graduated from giving me codeine to something iv never even heard of so fingers crossed it works! Hopefully yours wont get to that stage, those things usually only last a couple of days.

My memory has gone on what else i was going to reply to....
scan at midday tomorrow though, very excited!

Zant - re your tummy bug, could it just be a pregnancy 'symptom' or side issue?? I've read toilet issues can go either way, from terrible constipation to running to the toilet? I had a girl in my first DIG who suffered the latter and it was just her body in pregnancy. Has it been discussed as a possibility or am I waaay off? Maybe you should see your OB if you haven't already?

Feeling really Blah tonight. I think I am tired. Finn is killing us with this no sleep thing and it's been his whole life, so my temper is frayed and my patience is gone. It's so hard when you know what they need to be happy...but what can you do? Drug them to sleep LOL actually my Mother is always suggesting this and it drives me crazy. Is this what they did back then!!?!?!? original.gif

My husband does not help the situation by just suggesting I take him to the Dr. to discuss teething. Far out, what does he think the Dr will do? Reach in and lift the tooth up himself??? These two molars have come up to the point of being able to see tooth and then vanished again twice. Which I always thought was hoo-ha, or swollen gum, but they were there last week, actual tooth and blood blisters around them and now nada.

Argh.

Sorry, I am venting and I ought to have a parents group to rage about this one!!!!!!!! Sorry girls. Just so tired and over teeth wink.gif

Night xx

Good Morning Ladies waves.gif

mummygirl - i hope your feeling a lil better... maybe a little bit over the shock today?? bbighug.gif big hugs for you!!!

I know it might be a little early to discuss this but its been on my mind. (control and organized freak here). If been looking into childcare centers and most of them (in my area) range from $74-$85 a day! But i have also researched some family day care places which are only $50 a day which i think is much more reasonable.

For you ladies who have used childcare/family day care what are your opinions? Pro's and cons of each? Which would you prefer? Why? When do you enroll them to ensure them a spot?

Unfortunately i have to go back to work after 6 months after the baby is born so i would really like to at least have chosen one before the baby is born.

Thank you Ladies

TRADITIONAL MUM - I think it is a good idea to start looking into childcare options now. You may even want to start phoning some places and putting bub's name on a waiting list, especially if you are needing care from when bub is 6 months old. Some places fill up really quickly. I never needed childcare from that young - DD was about 2 and a half when she went, and it was only for 1 or 2 days each week. DS was about 1 (I think). We have used both childcare centres and family daycare. We found both good. I guess it depends on the centre or daycare mum you end up with. A childcare centre is good in that they are usually open from quite early in the morning to around 6pm (depending of course on each individual place). Family daycare has the benefit of your child being with the same carer all the time and only with (usually) 3 other kids maximum. I'd suggest going and checking out several places in your area to allow you to get a feel for what they are like. Also talk to other friends or family if you know of any in your area that have used childcare and get recommendations from them. Good Luck!

Mummygirl sorry to hear about your friend, it is such a sad time. I have a very close friend who has now lost 2 bubbas very close together and understand how devastated she is, NO ONE should EVER have to go through that.

Anyway on a much happier note, we had our morph scan today and very pleased to announce we are having.......

A very healthy baby!

We didn't find out the sex, though I did ask DH 4 times whether he wanted to know and he was very strong and adamant. So I guess I will have to wait another 20 weeks to find out! Baby's heart rate was 154 bpm, has 2 arms, legs, kidneys, lungs etc, 4 heart chambers etc and all is working perfectly. No cleft palate or clubbed feet...just a very healthy bubba. I am back to the imaging centre this afternoon to pick up the official report and pics. Very relieved all is well, as at my age there is more a chance of things going wrong.

Off to the Aldi toy sale doing birthday and christmas shopping. Chat later.

Fanatic news on the pinks and blues so far....very exciting!

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well original.gif

Traditional mum- In regards to childcare, I am in favour of family day care. However I am probably biased because I was a family day care mum for 18mths. I think it is great for younger babies as the carer has only 5 children in the home and so can give each child more one on one time. Family day carers offer a huge range of resources and have fantastic support systems in place. Of course, you need to make sure you like the carer and feel comfortable with them, but thats also the beauty of family day care....you can choose who cares for your child, not an option in a centre. Anyway, I loved my time with family day care and was sorry to leave it, I did so though to go to uni to become a primary school teacher.....can you see why I am having baby number 5 lol. Anyway, happy to help with any info you need original.gif

I've been meaning to find out about this facebook group...can someone point me in the right direction to joining.
Thanks.
