We had tried for about 18 months, no luck at all. Then, from December, my period started getting worse and worse - lasting as long as 4 weeks at a time. Was referred to OB/GYN, who did a hysteroscopy and D&C to try and clear the issues up. He ran blood tests a few times, and didn't find any evidence of ovulation.

Crazy periods settled down a bit (11 days was still a bit insane from my pov), and in June the doctor put me on clomid for the 5-10 days cycle.

I was supposed to get a blood test for ovulation checking done later in that month, then head back to see him at the start of my next period to have the amount of clomid adjusted.

Unfortunately, I still had another 12 day period, and I was so busy with work I did not get a blood test done in the window the doctor had guessed I was supposed to be ovulating.

So, I waited for my period again...and waited....and finally when it was 11 days after the latest date I thought it might have started, I did a home pregnancy test. Clearly I HAD ovulated, since that came up well and truly positive original.gif)

I feel so lucky, my partner and I want this baby so much, and after a relatively short set of issues, we are now well and truly on our way to becoming mum and dad - 16 weeks and a few days pregnant at the moment!

BTW I am 37, and I also had some existing issues with high blood pressure, so I was taking medicine for that as well as taking Elevit.

I am definitely, luckily, thankfully a person for whom Clomid worked first time.

Good luck to everyone else smile1.gif

Beep - I hope things go well for you this month too. Do you have to have the cysts removed? When and how do they go about that? Hopefully once that is resolved things will take a postitive spin for you. Fingers crossed!

Hi Hoping4bubs-I thought the same thing re:quiet forum...but then again I havent posted anything!

I am currently on my 7th day of provera to bring my period on and will then start on my third round of clomid (at 100mg this time-previous two were 50mg with no ovulation). I am hoping third time lucky! Surely some luck would be great as we come up to our 15th month of TTC.

Best of luck to all!!!

Hi Wifey,
Starting my first cycle of Clomid this week actually, its all very daunting isn't it. I never in a million years throught I would need to take fertility drugs and feel like a failure most days.
I have everything crossed it will be our turn soon xxx
