Loz - Sorry to hear your news thoughts are with you.

Honeyfly - How awesome! So happy everything is in the rght place for you wehn do you go back for the next scan to see the little heart beat. I don't know how far along I am I think somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks from LMP it would be 7wk 3 days but that is not accurate.

My scan was a little bit of nothing, nothing was seen anywhere I have to head back on Saturday to see if there is anything they can see.

Skoomeez?
Loz, I'm sorry.

I had an EP back in 2005, which was treated with methotrexate. The treatment itself is just as annoying as an injection and then blood tests to monitor that your hCG is dropping. However, there is still a risk of rupture; I was one of the unlucky ones - 12 days after my metho shot, I was in an ambulance being rushed to hospital with an abdomen full of blood from a ruptured tube. I lost that tube, but went on to have three more children after that (including twins whose eggs came from each ovary - my one hard-working tube managed to catch both of the eggs!).

Please take care of yourself and be aware of any abdominal pain you might have even a couple of weeks after the shot.

QUOTE (LozB @ 19/05/2011, 02:05 PM) *
Hi guys, I found out on tuesday that my bub is ectopic. Apparently it has stopped growing and I don't have any pain, just bleeding. They said on tuesday that they wanted to see what my hCG levels were doing because they were hoping that I wouldn't need surgery. Went back today and my levels haven't changed so they now want to do methotraxate(not sure how its spelt) treatment. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has experienced this and could talk to me about it. I'd never heard of it before and am a bit all over the place atm.
Thanks Loz

I had a similar ectopic as the one you have described (last December). I ended up having one injection of Methotrexate. I then went home, had no side effects from drug that I noticed. Follow up blood test showed Hcg dropping nicely over about 3 weeks. Then just had to wait the 3 months before starting TTC again. I did have a day of bleeding/discharge about 2 days after injection which they said was just old blood from my uterus being released but apart from that my cycle returned to normal after Hcg hit '0'. HTH

City girl living in the country.
Loz- I had methotrexate injections in November last year, it upset my stomach ( nausea and diarrhea) I had 2 injections, after the first one my hcg levels kept rising so they gave me a second, finally that worked.

Honeyfly and Key - yay!! cclap.gif

Hi Guys,
(sorry it's a cut and paste from another thread here)
Need to give you an update on me....

This week has been an emotional rollercoaster.

On Monday AF was due so I did an test (had a 2pk of tests) ...negative, but my temp went up.

Tuesday did another test (different brand), and it was positive. My temp also dropped heaps.

Wed tested again with the 2nd test in my 2pk...negative. Went to dr to have blood tests.

Today I have started spotting and my BT shows HCG at 4 which is a negative result. My GP thinks it's a chemical pregnancy. Nethertheless I am still gutted. Am also paranoid about possible 2nd ectopic. GP says to wait and see but thinks it might be a bit too low for that. I guess if I get a full blown period that will be the end. Will have to wait and see. I still have my spec appt next week so now I should get some answers.
