Oh dear, Shlep and Jacni, I thought I wanted two but I'm no sure now! It sounds extremely exhausting Shlep!

Misia_Au-Lait- we have carpet so he was alright, just really shocked.

Urgh, I am tred too, the two to three hour ake ups are doing my head in. I weighed him this morning hoping to see a weight gain so i can explain it away as a growth spurt. Nothing. I am also coming down with something, I wonder how easy it is for them to catch colds while breastfeeding? I remember a few of you discussing treating cold symptoms with vicks? I that right?

The funny thing is that I was packing up their 0000 clothes and it made me clucky for another baby. How can I be thinking that way when these girls are only 4 months old?

The girls went for their blood tests today. Ruby's went fine. Lots of crying but she got over it quickly. Unfortunately they had to have a go at each of Ashley's arms and still got nothing (she has her mummy's veins) so we have to go back on another day to try again. Poor thing.

Veryexcited: I'm so sorry for making you feel that way..that's the problem with forums like these where you can have a 'vent' anytime you like...unlike a mother's group or a chat to friends, you get to hear all the details every day! I also tend to write when I am having a hard time, so probably don't have as much of the 'good' stuff here.. Don't let any of it stop you from having another child. You already know that having a baby (or two) is going to be hard work some of the time, but that goes with the territory. Some babies/toddlers are also a lot easier than others. I wouldn't change this for the world.. Maybe, like birth stories, I shouldn't share in so much detail! I am just going through a trying time with a few things happening all at once - new baby, preschool, toilet-training.. hope you're coping ok with the change in night-wakings too..

Misia_AuLait..unfortunately Ravi usually sleeps around 8pm or so, and my toddler is still awake and we still have washing up to do from dinner...so unfortunately, I don't get to bed until about 10pm or so..as I like to have an hour or so to wind down from the day after they go to sleep. Usually an hour or so after I go to sleep, I get woken up..I should try and sleep earlier though..

Jacni: hope the blood tests are ok. sorry you have to go again. In hospital, they had trouble getting a canula in me and kept poking and prodding me..I was over it! I think it's great you got a cleaner.

Jacni - I feel for poor little ashley. Hopefully next time is successful and quick.

Shlep - Tanayah also goes down around 7 or 8 and then wakes about 2am. But I have learnt to go to bed soon after her so I am usually in bed by 8.30 It has meant dinner has to be earlier rather than later and dishes are either done by DH (which I would prefer he didn't because it is noisy outside Tan's room) or I do them some time the next day.

Yesterday I got my first giggles from Tan. So cute! I hope DH gets to hear them soon.

Ith - Yay to the door catch!

God sends biscuits to people who have no teeth!
Hey suz i am 75.4 too! yay for us.... LOZ im so proud original.gif its like a medal tally.. each kilo off is a medal.. i have now lost 20kg since the end of my pregnancy original.gif

Shelp- being woken after an hour of sleep at night is awful, i don't handle it well when it does happen. Big pat on the back to you for managing. It will get better thankgod that keeps us going original.gif
Btw Shelp how is ur pelvic floor going?
We got a new dresser/buffet piece of furniture in the living room about 2 weeks ago now and me an DP were moving it around the room to see where it looks best and it was quite heavy and i';ve noticed ever since then that i've been leaking a tiny bit of urine, i hate that and im trying to do the exercises i hope it gets better, its so frustrating, and just as my lochia is finally getting less too.

Mothers group has been going quite well, Aniela was much easier to manage last week so i felt better, its good to finally be in touch with other mums.
Infact one lady there said her friend had seen me on essetial baby, im not sure if its on here or somwhere els, small world.

Never forget who you are, little star
VE - I can highly recommend a 5 year age gap between children! It really is very manageable original.gif Not that our gap was planned huh.gif

Jacni - I know what you mean about the newborn clothes. I am noticing every little step away from Harry being a tiny baby sad.gif First was the 0000 clothes, then the newborn nappies, next will be a move from the bassinette into the cot and from his little bath into the big tub. He is well and truly my last baby and I am loving him to bits and not wanting him to grow too fast. It's really different to when DD was tiny, I couldn't wait for her to grow and become less dependent and needy. I think that was the PND to some extent. But now I wish I were 10 years younger and could consider another baby. Lord, I never thought I would hear myself say that! Good on you for organising a cleaner. Mine was here today and the house feels so lovely now. I use my(limited) energy on plenty of other things!

Weighed Harry today and at 13 weeks he is 6.33kg clothes. He has gained 800gm + in 4 weeks, which reassures me that he is getting enough milk from 5 feeds.

Hi all,
Had a good day shopping with Addie today. I had to find a breastfeeding friendly dress for a wedding we have coming up, I think I was successful. It's so hard to dress when breastfeeding. I think it's because my boobs are so much bigger than the rest of me .
I am so in love with her she is a lovely baby even if I still have get up all hours lol.
Congrats to those girls that are losing weight. I have lost 1/2 a kilo this week.

My weight is still 85.1, so no change. I have now put on nearly 4 kg since birth, so not happy!

Jacni - hope the blood tests for ashley are successful next time. It is so hard watching when they do a blood test!

Age gap - I have had 2 close together (18mths) and now an 8 yr gap. There is pros and cons to both, so you just have to go with what you get. There are hard bits with both age gaps, but htey come at different times.

Lots of changes and "firsts' with Ruby at the moment. She is out of her wrap and into a sleeping bag (and then we have the hottest night we have had in ages!). She had her first go in the jolly jumper and outdoor swing, and loves them! She has had her last breast feed - self weaned herself from the last one I was saving!

Ruby used to take the dummy, then go off to sleep - she is now totally refusing the dummy (does this mean she knows she is meant to sleep, so I wont take it??) For those of you having the witching hour/s, is it hysterical screaming which cant be calmed by anything? I have been getting this with Ruby in the last week (though it happens at different times throughout the day) and can last for up to 2 hours. Absolutely nothing calms her. I dont know if she is starting to outgrow her medication again, or if it is just the "normal" baby crying fit! Gosh it is hard to know what is going on sometimes.

Here she goes again.

Ith, if Ruby likes her baths, maybe try that - regardless of the time of day. If you have to do a few baths a day, then so be it. Our witching hrs are pretty calm with just a little bit of crying. I know a bath will make her happy for half an hr and delay the feed by half an hour.

I have had a blood blister on my nipple for over a month and it broke while Tan was feeding yesterday. Does hurt, but was a bit scary. Now she is somewhat constipated and giving out black stuff, probably dried blood. I have expressed from that side for the last 5 feeds. I think I am nearly ready to give her another go. I will feel better if it doesn't bleed and if she does a big yellow poo for me!
