Has anyone bought any Hemnes Furniture from Ikea?

We're thinking of updating our bedroom and getting the queen bed frame, bedside tables, a bookcase and the 8 drawer dresser.

I realise it's pretty cheap stuff, but is it so crappy that it looks tacky or falls apart instantly?

Am interested in hearing from anyone who's bought this range.

I was planning on getting the brown queen bed but I looked at it instore and it just seemed really rickety and not that great, I ended up getting the LILLESAND bed which it very sturdy and cheap! Looks great as well

My folks have a few pieces and it's surprisingly good. Just because it's Ikea it doesn't automatically mean it's a piece of junk.

I love the look of this range - I want the single bed/trundle combo for DS.

We have the 3 drawer set in our entry, it looks great and hides all our "dumped" stuff. However, the drawers do not hold much weight - I used it to store my uni/work text books and the bottom came out. My FIL fixed it - but just a word of warning if you are planning to put anything heavy in it.

I've got a house full of IKEA (how embarrassing) from the fixtures and fittings to the furniture and the furnishings. I've only once in ten years had to seek a refund for a faulty item, and that was some vinyl wall decals that weren't sticky enough. IKEA generally is fine, even though it's cheap. I'm fine with assembling their stuff now, though it took some time to get used to. Nothing else has ever fallen apart or broken.

The Hemnes range is quite good, and really, for the price, I think it's good value.

It's not embarassing. We have thousands of dollars worth of Ikea stuff too. At our old house, we refitted our entire wardrobe with the Pax/Nexus range - it is one of the main things that sold our house when it came time to sell - it was gorgeous!

We have heaps of Bonde stuff too, some Vattern pieces, Expedit...and so on and so forth.

I agree IKEA is a good brand of furniture and it isn't the one that has to be embarrassed with. My house is also full of IKEA furniture's although I also own some wooden furniture w/c my own handmade. IKEA is cheap and durable as long as it isn't always wet or near heat because the enforced bits can easily wear out if is constant heated or always being wet.

I have the bedsides, the 8 drawer unit, and 3 drawer unit with the oval mirror on top

All in white, and love love love it

Had it for 12 months, and haven't had any problems.
