spending less time on EB and more time with a book

Was just watching Open Seseme with DD on Foxtel and there was a clip of Cookie Monster with a pipe in his mouth, you know the ones that older men frequently use!!

Must have been old footage, couldnt see that being PC in this day and age.

Very odd!

On Monsterpiece Theatre? I assumed it was because he was emulating some pipe smoking dude who presented "Masterpiece Theatre" in the US.

Agree abbot cookie monster, DS1 won't sleep without his. The early episodes of sesame street on DVD come with a warning that they are not suitable for kids! Not just the pipe- Oscar lives in unsanitary conditions, cookie has unbalanced diet and so on. Watch a whole episode and be horrified!

A fingerknitting child is a happy child.
I loved Monsterpiece Theatre laughing2.gif

i also think it's a bit silly the way they have had to "fix" SS. Just because Cookie Monster eats cookies every day doesn't mean I did when I was a kid. I would love to get my hands on some old episodes for DD original.gif

QUOTE (BeachedAsBro @ 17/06/2010, 02:43 AM) *
I think that I turned out ok and I grew up on Sesame Street. Seeing Cookie Monster smoking his pipe and Oscar living in the rubbish bin didn't make me want to do the same (and I'm sure thousands of other kids too).

I think the world has gone PC mad and it's pretty sad (read pathetic) if you ask me.

Agreed 110%!

Old Sesame Street is awesome!!!!
