I watched this and was pretty horrified that parents push their kids into this.

OK it was USA , but the mums were saying "my child really wants to do this"...do their children wake up one day and said "Hey I want to wear spangly dresses, tonnes of makeup and waggle my backside provocatively, even though I am only 5" ?

It was horrible and the kids seemed far too sexualised at such a young age when all they should be worrying about is their dolls and bikes.

Did anyone else see it? (on again L+2 at 10.30pm) Was anyone else as taken aback as me when watching it?

Reminds me of the movie Bruno where he interviewed parents who were more than happy to put their child in compromising situations to get them work BLERG

Oh my G O D !!!

I just seen the last 20 mins of this.

How can these mum's say that the little ones WANT to do these shows,
when one is just concerned about buying a cow and another is in tears about
winning the money back.

These little girls are beautiful little people in their own right.

What are these mums teaching their daughters.

The poor little girl (that wanted the cow) was upset because she didn't walk the right way.

She was 4 or 5 (I think)

Seeing some of them plastered in makeup made me worry for my nearly 3 year old, who insists on carrying one of my lipsticks around with her. She will never look like these kids though if I have any say in the matter.

I not long finished watching it too and I nearly threw up in my mouth. It was disgusting. What I don't understand is that the paegant fees are $900 and 'if' the child wins the prize is $1000. One of the 'Mothers' spent $2,000 on a dress .

Flippers : ie false teeth because *gasp* the child had lost a front tooth, manicures, pedicures, hair extensions, fake tans and being paraded around like made up dolls. Don't even get me started on the make-up, they look terrible.

I wonder though, does this sh*t only happen abroad?

It's actually bordering on perversion, to the host that said there is nothing sexual about it sure does have her head in the clouds. wwhistle.gif

What happened to little girls innocence?

Wonkie Tonkie - it was on "You" channel (Foxtel).
Google Toddlers and Tiara's on YouTube and you'll see the gist of the show. Disgraceful really.

I think those pageants are terrible but I have this fascination with watching shows about them!
All I can say is 'only in America'
Lets face it that girl that won really could have done with losing a few kg's and that black girl well she just wasnt really suited to it
I cant believe the judges say it all depends on what they wear and how good their makeup is!
