Michelle Duggar, star of TLC's 18 Kids and Counting, was rushed to an Arkansas hospital over the weekend – but her pregnancy with Baby No. 19, not due until spring, wasn't the reason for her dash to the doctor.

"This weekend, Michelle Duggar was admitted to an Arkansas hospital due to gallbladder issues," says a network rep. "The pain from a gallstone was generating some contractions. Just to be safe, she was airlifted a Little Rock, Ark., hospital, so that in the unlikely event that she had to be delivered early, she would be close to a NICU center. Though there were some fears that the baby was in trouble initially, it soon was discovered to be solely the gallstone causing the discomfort. Michelle is resting comfortably, and the baby is doing fine."

OMG she is pregnant again......oh that is horrible, I sound like my mum when I told her I was pregnant with my 5th....mind you I felt the same way. How on earth she can deal with that many children I have no idea.

Good Luck to her I suppose.

She's doing well to have had some many babies and not had GB issues before. I barely made it to one baby without having to have my GB out!

Exactly yyes.gif

I read a magazine article about them once (and tried watching an episode of their reality tv show but got bored yyawn.gif ), and they have a "buddy system" where one of the older kids is kind of responsible for one of the younger kids, and they all have their set chores every day, eg one "team" does the laundry, another "team" tends to the garden, etc etc.

I too only watched the show once and for a few minutes. It was pretty boring! But good luck to her. The children look and sound like good people and we need more of those in the world!

No, I think they're Baptist.

In the magazine article I read, I think the reason they decided to have such a large family had something to do with losing a baby many years ago not long after they were married - I think she was taking the pill at the time, fell pregnant but lost the child, and felt so guilty about it and blamed the pill for the loss. So from then on, they decided that they would not use any form of birth control, and allow God to send them as many children as he liked. (something along those lines - cant' remember the exact story).

They are really self sufficient too - grow their own vegies etc, live off the income from investment properties they own (both are licenced real estate agents), and basically don't rely on government assistance and charity. Really interesting and admirable how they've evolved as a family.
