As the title says, I'm feeding my baby by holding him under my arm, not sure the name for the hold. But I'm after a pillow I can take with me when I go out to help me feed more comfortablly.

Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance.

The hold is as you have said, underarm hold, or football hold
As your bub gets older, and his neck control improves, you may be able to start feeding him in a cradle hold. Could you see a Lactation Consultant to work with you to try different positions that will suit your bub and your breast size and shape.

OP I think you are referring to a "football hold". I have been feeding my DS on my right breast using this hold since he was born. I use the cradle hold for the other breast. He just seems to attach way better and I'm happy to continue this way as long as I can. I recently bought the breastfeeding pillow/bag off the following website:

www.kisskisshughug.com.au

It works for me. Its stylish (you don't look like an idiot carrying it around in public). You can take the cushion out altogether and use it as a bag. You can even remove some of the cushion filling to make it not so high. You can adjust the length of the handle too which is good as when feeding I tie it around me as somethimes when you pick them up to burp them or if they are wriggling about the pillow tends to slip. I got the black & white damask one...its gorgeous.

I used to carry around a cushion with me, but sometimes I'd forget and end up propping DS up with the nappy bag...lol

also you can easily hang it over your stroller/pram handles too.

Thanks!

I will check it out, lol @ the nappy bag, though a practical idea... hehe.

I have started using a nipple shield sice posting to help slow down the flow of my milk, or atleast make my boy work a bit harder to get it, and I can now just lay him on a pillow at my front, its soooo much more comfy! But normal pillows are to soft so I will still check out the one you reccomended P!NK.

Thanks again!
