For the first time in my life, I'm seriously considering complaining to a network or some other media body about that repulsive blackface sketch on red faces last night.

Is this as far as we've come? We needed Harry Connick to tell us this is not on and force and apology? What if an African-American had been on the panel?

And that Bozo MacDonald thinking it was funny and giving it a score of 7?

And then finding out that the losers are all specialist Drs, ie: highly educated??

It's bad enough that this wasn't vetted properly in 1985; I cannot believe that it could get to air in 2009.

I'm deeply embarrassed and furious at their/our political ignorance, if that's what it is.

I guess this is more of a vent.......who do I complain to??

I didn't see it but it is disgusting - pity Harry C didn't walk out in protest.

I have looked at the HHIS site on FB this morning (it's on my 'suggestions' page but I wouldn't join it) and there are a tonne of people saying "lighten up". I can see their point but anything which makes fun of a person's race or appearance is just not funny.

I think you should get a life! It was red faces its an act! They were on 20 years ago and was all black then and come back now and the lead was white they were doing Jackson 5 and Michel Jackson.

Gee's take it as face value and stop whinging about something so bloody minor!

Yes it was a bit of bad taste but I don't think it was done deliberately to offend.

DH & I couldn't believe it aired, either.

Harry's comment was 'gold' ..."if you pulled a stunt like that in America there would be no more show.." or thereabouts, you could see he was shocked.

I can see them 'getting away with it' it 1989, but c'mon, don't we know better now?

Yes, they were all med students when they did it 20+ years ago, now they are: phsych, anaethetist, plastic surgeon, urologist etc.

They were taking off jackson 5 as they did 20 years ago. Is it different to dressing up as ABBA etc?

Oh please - it wouldn't have even raised and eyebrow in 1985 when it was first done!

Do you "lighten up" (hah!) people know the historical significance of blackface acts?
