Inspired by a PP - what is your name? Do you like it/hate it/don't mind it? Would you ever name your child after yourself (middle name or otherwise)? Were you named after someone? What nicknames do you get?

I'm Bridget and I hated it for a long time, up until the past year or so and now I love it. I wouldn't name a child after myself; not really my thing, but I was named after one of my mums aunty's. I mainly get Bridgey and Bridge as a NN.

You?

My name's Alison, and I quite like it, never hated it when I was young. I was named for the meaning, but mum later found out that my great grandmother's name was Allyson Allyson. NN Ally.

I wouldn't name my child after me, but DD2's middle name is Alyse (sort of after me, a derivative of Alison).

I'm Amie, don't love it, don't hate it. I wouldn't name my child after me, purely because I don't believe in naming children after people (and I have too much fun choosing names!)

My middle name is Zara, which I love.

My name is Renay. My parents gave me a uneek name before it was cool laughing2.gif

I don't mind the fact that it's spelt a bit different to the norm. I'm just used to saying my name is spelt with an A-Y at the end.

I get Nay as a nickname.

I haven't named a child after myself. But my daughter has the same middle name as I do, as does my grandmother.

My middle name is Joan, named after my mum. She hates her name and quite seriously wants to change it by deed poll. What's with that!?

Sarah. Always wanted something a bit different as a child but not too fussed nowadays. Would never call my child after me though.

Mum to two wonderful children!
My name is Annette - and I have never liked it. So no way I would pass it down. It is rather uncommon though - so it is always a talking point. And no-one ever gave me a nickname!

Melinda - always hated it. I get the obvious NN - Mel, Mez.

I gave my daughter the same middle name as me - Jane. Tradition has to start somewhere !
