Hi Just saw this forum for stitching. Trying to get back into it i want to start a birth one for my baby but need one that can be for a boy or a girl as we won't be finding out what our little one is. We want it to be a suprise. Have to find a stiching shop in melbourne city or frankston area. Maybe i will go to lincraft and have a look there. I have only done little cross stitch so far like xmas decorations to go on the tree. what is everyone working on do you do large ones or small ones? cheers Sonya |

Hi
I looked online and found out where tapastry craft is. I use to go to the one in york street in sydney before i moved to melbourne 4 years ago. so im off there in my lunch hr. I am so excited already. lol. I went and had a look at the last thread. wow you all do amazing cross stitch. I have so many unframed and UFO's. I seem to so all the crosses then not the back stitch. maybe i should go through my stuff and get it out havent done any but start a tiny purple iris that is nearly finished no back stitch and has its own round frame since i moved from sydney only 1/2 hr to go to lunch time. cheers sonya |

Hi girls,
I did post a while back in this thread, but then everything kinda fell off the rails again when I fell pregnant with number 2 (due in 4 weeks) and was sick, in and out of hospital with dehydration. When I have felt well enough I have been working on a 50cm X 60cm Beatrix Potter Alphabet cross stitch (for my son I did a Winnie the Pooh Alphabet of the same size). It won't be finished in time, but should definately be done by christmas. Will post pictures of my stuff soon. |

Wow I have picked up a needle and thread for the first time in ages. I have been doing other craft. It is so so nice to pick it up again. I couldn't find my waste canvas last weekend so went to spotlight where I couldn't get it so they sold me one that is solible. Has any one used it before? I did end up finding my waste canvas and can't wait to go back to it. I can't see the solible one on the towel I am stitching. It's like using gelatine to stitch with. I was hoping to find some tips on it. I wont use it again and don't recommend it. Spotlight told me one lady loves the stuff as she was getting it from America.
I don't think I will be putting my stitching down again in a hurry I have brought the 2 older girls teacher presents for christmas. They are all getting the same pattern as I picked them up for $5 a kit so thought that would be ok. The last time I posted in here was I think thread 4. |
