I have a14 month of son and we brush his teeth everyday, my question is do you just use water for now and when do you start to use tooth paste ?

How do you clean your toddlers teeth ?

Thank you in advance

why do housework when there's scrapping to be done!
Hi there!
I have read that before 1 year only a wet cloth. And before 2 years to only use a wet toothbrush. After 2 years we can introduce a tiny amount of kids toothpaste.

Chloe brushes her teeth while in the bath. I start her off and make sure I get the most of it, then I give it to her and she just chews on it. It is really good for when she has teeth coming through.

Hope this helps.

Dannii

Hi.

We started using tooth past with Jayden when he was about 14 or 15 months old. The colgate kids toothpaste says its fine after 12 months.

After a few weeks of teaching him how to spit out the left over he got the hang of it.

Good luck

move along... nothing to see here
I still just use water and DD is 20m. Have been using a tooth brush since her teeth started coming thru about 9m.

I brush her teeth after dinner and then sometimes let her play with the tooth brush - especially if I am also trying to comb her hair!

I was told by the dentist to continue cleaning my child's teeth until they are at least 6 or 7. I have a friend whose DD had fillings before she was out of kindergarten despite eating a very healthy diet - when quizzed by the dentist about brushing she said "oh DD has been brushing her own teeth since she was 2"...

By the way, that dress you are wearing is green.
If you're having trouble brushing your child's teeth - and it can be a struggle some days! - someone on EB said what they did and it really works well.

You let the toddler brush your teeth while you're brushing theirs. It has worked really well with DD, and I'm able to brush her teeth quite well as a result. I just give her my toothbrush - without toothpaste - and she loves to brush my teeth too - although she has choked me a few times!
