How grand it must be, to be the chosen one...
We must all be busy knitting!

I finished the bolero last week and was so happy with how it turned out. I actually had to knit a band right aound the back, neck and front which ended up being 600 stitches - the longest row ever!

I have made a carrot (with goggly eyes) for DD and a snitch for DS. I am really pleased with the carrot as I didn't like any of the patterns I found, so I did it free-style - first time ever!

I am now onto a set of chickens - a mother chick and 3 babies - going well so far.

Ohhh they sound adorable - you'll have to show us a picture when you're done. original.gif

I'm always knitting, just currently doing a stripy blanket for DD to use up some acrylic yarn (I have way too much). Straight forward knitting only, very simple - it's looking good though. The only problem is that I'm running low on some of the colours and will probably end up buying more yarn, rather than using up as much as I can. rolleyes.gif

I finished the mother hen and 6 babies (the babies were easy, so I ended up with 6 instead of 3!), I have knitted 2 cushions with the "Phoebe" wool from Lincraft which turned out pretty well. I have also made 2 teddies with the "Giggle" wool from lincraft and they are really cute. I am about to start a cardigan for a friend, so I have been busy.

I am disappointed to say that I finally found the Dawn French pattern books I have been searching for for years, but Amazon wont ship them to me cry1.gif

This is quite a quiet thread... just wanted to share my latest finished project..

it's a little cardigan for a friend of mine who is having a baby girl in August... When I first bought the wool it looked like watermelon to me but the more I knitted I realized it was actually christmas colours... oh well original.gif

will try and do a cushion cover now...

Is anyone else doing anything fun?

Hi Superfruity waves.gif

We are all too busy knitting!

Cute cardi! I am still going on my adult sized cardigan - finished the back and left front. I went to a knitting day on Saturday out at Murrambateman, and knitted from 10am until 7pm - bliss.

Hi Knitters! biggrin.gif

Cute cardigan, superfruity (I think I've seen that yarn before - Lincraft?) - it does look Christmasy but also watermelony. I'm sure it'll be appreciated either way. original.gif

Cath, that knitting day sounds blissful indeed. Where do I sign up!? biggrin.gif

I'm on a sock spree. Have made a pair of knee-high socks for DD and am now making another one as the first one turned out a bit tight. Also making socks for a couple of friends and now DS has put in a request as well. I'm using some of my own hand-dyed yarns and I love seeing how they knit up, so it's a lot of fun.

Thanks guys I am really proud as this is first real and useable thing I have ever produced (apart from hats and scarfs)... and yes JJ it is Lincraft wool...

Cath were do you live??? I'll have a newborn in November and would probably appreciate a knitting day but don't think it is in the cards original.gif

JJ wow socks! I can knit in the round and have done legwarmers and such but would be really scared when it comes to doing the heels of socks...

I actually will be crocheting my next project as I fell in love with this cushion original.gif
