I can't polish a turd but I can roll it in glitter.
I caught the tail end of some footage of Kevin in Japan and wondered if he was sampling some whale? sick.gif

Would you eat whale given the opportunity?

Nah, he was doing a very daggy photo opportunity at the 'Eat Aussie Beef' promo for some supermarket chain in Japan.

Personally it annoyed me as he is doing this whole touchy feely thing in Japan yet not once has brought up their whaling in OUR waters...or whaling in GENERAL for that matter... rant.gif

Why are people so unkind?

Eating Beluga Caviar would not have the desired effect you're after contumely. Might just make it a minky manky stinky though.

Nah, course not. Same as he's not meeting the Dalai Llama but instead sending a 'representitive'. Probably as it will affect the relationship he's building with China. He's too busy buttering up the Asian countries leaders. That's fine if he wants to do that, but I do wonder if he's going to get as much flack for that as Howard was for buttering up the yanks.

move along... nothing to see here
Commonwealth environment legislation protecting whales (and all cetaceans) applies to all Australian citizens no matter where they are. So it is an offence for an Australian citizen to kill, injure, butcher, import or be in possession of all or part of a whale ANYWHERE in the world.

Whether that applies to eating it is not clear (from my quick browse just now) but IMO he would be mad to do it given the tough line we have taken v the Japanese in the International Whaling Commission.

I would not eat Whale. I doubt K-Rudd would be stupid enough to chow down on Whale in public.

It was beef - he was promoting its consumption to the Japanese.
That's what it was all about.

It was not the time nor place to make an anti whaling stance, that is being handled by others for Australia.

"Oh and by the way - how about eating our cattle instead of whale - have you thought of that Mr Nippon?"

I don't think so.
