Before you get pregnant, you might have all the boxes ticked, or you could be the 'let's just see what happens' type. No matter what your style, it can help to think about the emotional aspects of parenthood.
It dosen't sound like a great place to give birth, but in 2010, researchers from a German hospital used a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine to record a woman in labour.

1. Have you experienced evaporation lines? No 2. Have you experienced false positives? No 3. If applicable, how early did you get a legitimate + result? 12DPO, faint but there, easier seen without the casing on, and accurate, as blood test result showed HCG 25 yesterday just after I did HPT. 4. Rate the test out of 10. 10/10
It has been requested to add an OPK rating thread to accompany the HPT ratings thread.
Feel free to add your opinion on various brands of OPK and include a rating out of 10. Are there certain brands you have never received a + on when you have on others etc????
Price 9/10 (can't remember exactly how much for how many but I know they are pretty cheap compared to others I guess since you are buying in bulk?)
Accuracy 7/10 (took 3 months to get a true + OPK, had to use one every few hours to catch the surge - lucky they are cheap and in bulk! Trying to figure out the OPK line in comparison to the control line and weather it = +OPK also does your head in!)
ETA Haven't used any other brands so nothing to compare it to

I find these tests to be quite accurate and have received many +'s on them but with each test sometimes having different control line thickness/colour, because of this I find them a little hard to read in determining a TRUE +. I'd rate them 8 out of 10
These are the only tests I have used so far...Interested in hearing from those who have used ClearBlue Digital O tests...?

Smile, it makes people wonder what you've been up to!
Confirm Kit - about $20 from Coles - 9/10 (I'd give them 10 but they are a bit pricey so they only get a 9!) - these are my favourites. You get 5 OPKs and a HPT in the kit, and they are the cassette style where you use a dropper to put in 3 drops of urine rather than dipping them. I find them to be the most sensitive and give me a + everytime without a doubt. Will be going back to using these again this cycle as they are the most reliable. Fortel Kit - about $18 from Coles - 4/10 - I am fairly sure you get about 7 OPKs and a HPT with these ones. They are also the cassette style test, but I didn't find that they are as sensitive as the Confirm ones. I think I did get a + on some of the tests, but it usually snuck up on you without many faint lines before it (showed no line at all most of the tests prior to O). I know I definately missed my surge on this test, that is when I stopped using them.
Ovunowinternet cheapies - 50 for $40 from Fertility Natropath or Ebay - 8/10 - my second favourite brand. These are the thin dip stick kind, and they do sometimes get indent spots on them, but for less than a buck a test you can't go wrong! I do find them about the same sensitivity as the Confirm tests, but cheaper. I'd use these all the time if I was organised enough to order them in time, LOL.
Lullaby Conception internet cheapies - 30 for $30 from Lullaby Concetion - 6/10 - I used these for the first time last cycle. They are also the thin dip stick kind. I didn't get any faulty tests in the pack, but I did find that the test is less sensitive than the Confirm or Ovunows. The packet states 20mIu, but the + I got wasn't as dark as the control line, but it was the darkest line that I got. So keep in mind that your surge might be detected with a less than + opk with this brand, but that doesn't mean that you didn't O. When the line starts to darken, BD BD BD, and don't stop until a few days after it goes light again. First Response OPKs - About $20 from Woolworths, 5 or 7 in a pack? - 5/10- I vaguely remember using a few of these way back. They are the dip kind, but thicker than the IC's. I didn't find they were all that senstive, about the same as the Fortel ones.

1. Have you experienced evaporation lines? Never with any test
2. Have you experienced false positives? Never with any test
3. If applicable, how early did you get a legitimate + result? Earliest any test was + I was 8 days late.
4. Rate the test out of 10. 7/10 Pregnosis - 25mlU Answer Early Result Pregnancy Test - 25mlU Discover One Step - 25 mlU Confirm – 25mIU First response - 25 - 100mlU
Ovunow (internet cheapy). - 9/10 I also bought mine from Fertility naturopath. There were the 1st brand of OPKs I used. Since you get so many I was using 3 a day to detect ovulation. I alway got a very strong +ve test result which increased in intensity and then disappeared. These results also matched perfectly with CM and FF temping. I was very confident that I was getting a true +ve when I did.
Clearblue digital ovulation kit - 6/10 (purely based on price - very expensive at over $10 a test ). I had run out of Ovunow test strips as I ovulated 4 days later that expected one cycle. After going to 3 pharmacies and supermarkets this was all I could get my hands on. I was desperate as I didn't want to miss the surge. On my first test I got a smiley face (+ve). Haven't tested again using them as they are so expensive.
