Did you know that too much fluoride can actually be poisonous. and did you know that Anna Bligh has now planned to put in our qld water.

flouride is a poison, more poisonous than lead and only minimally less than arsenic. a family size tube of toothpast is enough to kill a 12.5kg child. and why does colgate say keep away from children.

It only works when applied topically ie.straight on the teeth in low doses. It causes harm to your body when swalowed. especially for childrean and people with kidney or immune system problems.

what is the point in spending millions of dollars to fluoridate our water when we get all the fluoride we need by using toothpaste. even then dental authorities recomend against swallowing any toothpaste. always spit it out.

Even the qld government recommends not brushing with flouride toothpast if there is flouride in the water as this can lead to dental fluorosis. so its obviously not necessary at all.

as you can see sometimes the government just has there own agenda regarless of what is best for us.

i grew up in vic where we had flouride and i have fillings. on a recent trip to melb for christmas many friends mentioned that they hate fluoride and so i decided to do a little research of my own. i live in qld and have 2 kids and there is no way i would let them have flouridated water on a regular basis which is why i have bought a reverse osmosis water filter.

fluoride is a common ingedient in pesticides and rat poison.

if you want info on flouride read the msds-material safety data sheet or just google it on the net.

So please do a little research before giving yourselves or your children fluoridated water.

some sites you may want to look at are:

or there are many great videos at youtube.com

mummy too 5 beautiful children
I think its a brilliant idea, I grew up with florinated water and have NEVER had a cavity.

I have wanted them too put floride in our water since my first daughter was born.

My dentist told me you will never get enough flouride in toothpaste infact we were told too find the higest dose floride toothpaste for my son then AND for him nt too spit as it will stay on his teeth.

As for the toothpaste I have caught my kids once or twice eating a tube of toothpaste and they are fine.

I think you may have been reading propaganda against it. I got similar info about recycled water saying how bad it was...

Just my opinion but I am ALL FOR IT!

My mother made me take the fluroide pink tablets back in the mid70s as Brisbane didn't have the product in the water.
Fast forward way down the track, I went to the dentist recently and he wanted to thank my mother as he said my teeth were the strongest he has seen, all because of my mother's insistence in taking those fluroide tabs.

Well Done to Anna Bligh, can she now wield the axe in the top heavy Qld Health bureaucracy ???? tongue.gif

OP, I find your post to be very one sided and ill-informed.

p.s. Why am I not surprised to see 2 of your links are to a religious site and that the MSDS sheet is from the US? rolleyes.gif

We are having #3! Due 12 September.
Sorry OP but what a load of rubbish! Propaganda at it's best and you shouldn't be plugging filters.

I am very happy to see fluoride being added to our water. Well done QLD Government.

PS- Using capitals is considered yelling and quite rude on forums.

Do please tell us what exactly that agenda would be?

There are so many holes in your post it would take all day to quote you on all the misinformation so I'm just going to say blink.gif

The advice to do a little research is a good idea, but make sure it's BOTH sides of the story.

I'm another Qlder that is happy to be getting fluoride in our water.

I will always remember a comment made once when someone said "too much *** did ***". Um DEr too much means too much.

too much water kills
too much salt kills
too much heat kills

and

too much oxygen can be poisonous and kill.

Too much of anything is TOO MUCH - hense the comment. blush.gif

Even though i am on tankwater so will have to continue to give ds tablets i am pleased to see Qld govmt FINALLY seeing sense.

oh and re your comment re msds's - as someone who works with them everyday - they ALL sound awful......just like information that acccompanies medications....

women who want to be equal to men have no ambition
I am very pleased that my DD spent most of her early childhood in Sydney and drinking fluoridated water... At almost 13 she's had one very small cavity (and our dentist always comments on the strength of her teeth).

I have been using a compounded fluoride treatment for my 4.5 YO and will be pleased to finally not have to convince him to drink his "tooth" medicine each day.

Incidentally, I grew up in Brisbane .. and guess what - have had to get 10 of my teeth "veneered" (at $1000 a tooth) to give them some strength... (and to avoid "falsies" before I am 40...

I don't usually agree with Captain Bligh - but this one I do..... And agree with a PP - Let's hope her next blip on the radar is QLD Health.

Yeap me too, I have brillant teeth and I am 38 years old with 2 fillings and they are from clenching my teeth.

Thankfully after living in QLD for a short time Melbourne had decided to put it in the water system.
