Hi

Ive been away on holidays for about 10 days. My mum saw me as soon as I came back, and exclaimed that my pregnancy belly appears a lot smaller than it did when I went away.

Ive also had rellos tell me while on holidays that Im not as big as they thought I'd be. Im 28 weeks tomorrow...and this is pregnancy #2.

I still feel the baby move; quite strongly at times and quite frequently. I havent cut down on food (in fact Ive been eating more than normal), havent been sick or felt unwell (besides a slight cold).

Perhaps the baby has shifted and is more internal iykwim...because I feel a lot more movements inside (against other organs etc), rather than on the outside. I also have a bit more heartburn these days, so Im hoping the baby has just shifted a bit...

Can anyone alleviate my fears somewhat until I go see my obstetrician again??

I have no idea why people make comments on pg women appearing smaller, then at previous times.. rant.gif

This is my first pg (Well my first ended in MC.) I feel the baby move/kick/punch daily.. Not all my family live where I do and since this is the first child in my family & DH's family I send out regular updates of belly shots. Just before I went down south to see my OB everyone said that my belly in a photo looked smaller. And yep when I arrived they still reckon my belly was small.. blink.gif Panic set in and I waited nervously to see the OB...

When I arrived at his office I begain to sweat. (Gross I know. But I was guessing maybe something could be wrong.) He checked everything out.. And then said "Bubs has so much room to move, But has moved quite a bit since last time, Nothing to worry about just sitting back. Perfect size but don't expect a 5 or 6 pund baby........"

Two days later everyone said oh how I had popped out all of a sudden, Wish they would make up there minds!!!!

As long as you feel movement I would ease up, Baby can feel your stress. If you are too worried try get into your OB earlier.. No point worrying and not doing anything about it.

Some days I wake up and look at my belly and think, oh gosh I am smaller today..
I think that baby backs up inside your tummy nice and comfy on most days..
Don't stress out all will be ok..Baby has probably wriggled in more..

I carry compact. With my oldest, I didn't show until I was about 24 weeks. I kept getting comments about he would be small. I too had comments on some days of, "Oh, you look smaller than when I last saw you." and they send you into a panic.

My son was head down and ready to go at 28 weeks. I guess that could have made a bit of a difference also. My OB thought he would be a small bub until the day before I had him when I had an ultrasound and his estimated weight was 9lb. He ended up being born 37w+5 and weighing 8lb 8ounces.

Don't stress about comments like that. As long as you can feel bub moving around and your OB is happy with the size that is that matters. original.gif

thanks everyone. my ob measured me just before I left, and he said bub is average sized...meaning that I'll probably deliver a 3 kg baby again, like last time. Last time I put on most weight in the third trimester, so hopefully as you all have said, bubgs has just snuggled in a bit more inside me. original.gif
