Thank you for sharing your story. My son had jaundice when he was born, but the nurses and doctors shrugged it off as nothing. Thankfully, we never had any problems associated with it, but its scary to think that something that medical practitioners shrug off can develop into something more serious. Thank you for sharing Your son is just gorgeous!!

Hello, Thankyou for sharing your story & alerting other parents to be about the seriousness of jaundice. My DD was born two weeks early & all seemed fine on day 3 when they were preparing to send us home. A nurse (not midwife) came to give me some medicin & said that my DD looked very yellow & that she was going to get a midwife to come have a look at her. The midwife then decided to do the jaundice test & it was found that my DD had a very high level of billirubin (sp?) of 452 & required phototherapy treatment straight away. She was unnder the lights for 4 days & required a drip fpr fluids also. The jaudice was caused by a AB/O incompatabilty & she was diaognoised as being commbs positive. I can totally realte to you heart ache & aprehension. I was so worried & cried a lot. I have not found my DD to be lacking in her development as of yet & that this doesn't become a concern for us. i can only imagin what you have gone through & still are dealing with. Thanks again for your story

Why Is A Door AJAR... But AJAR Is Not A Door????

Thank you for sharing your story and awaring others to the seriousness this can cause. my little boy was badly jaundice and at 7 weeks prem and in SCU it was a very scary time for us only 3 weeks ago, as he would do nothing but sleep and wouldnt even have the energy to feed he was very yellow and honestly looked terrible He spent just over 48 hours under the lights and thankfully that lowered his levels from 387 down to 263....with daily levels tested after that they then dropped to 225, 212 then 187. we were told anything over 240 was high risk and would need treatment. He is now alot better but we have been told that he will have his levels done every mth.. here is a pic of our little man only 3 weeks ago
