* We've done 7 (6 stims & 1 Fet) cycles. 5 PGD cycles
* Have a 3yr old daughter from cycle 3 and I now have a son (10 weeks) edited Oct 21st from cycle 7. * Diagnosis is unexplained - probably more age. I'm 41 and DH is 45. * Prior to IVF i fell pregnant naturally a few times but miscarried 4 times (latest at 9 weeks) and once whilst cycling. However it was taking a long time to fall pregnant and we were told to go straight to PGD. * I noticed as each cycle went by, i got less embies for biopsy, quality was declining and my body seemed to be coming more resistant to the drugs. Cycle 1 150 Puregon Cancelled just before EPU, not enough eggs for PGD. Cycle 2 350 Puregon 18 eggs, 13 embies, 8 biopsed = 4 normal, 3 abnormal & 1 inconclusive. Transferred 2 normal compacting females. Chemical preg. No frosties. Changed Dr's within clinic. Cycle 3 500 Puregon Colorado Protocal, also proluton injections. 16 eggs, 11 embies, 6 biopsed = 2 normal, 2 abnormal, 1 inconclusive & 1 not totally tested. 1 normal compacting male & 1 compacting untested transferred (other normal died o/n in lab). ++++++ My daughter (the untested embie) was born. Everything else in this cycle died. No frosties. (my embies NEVER make it past day 5 in the lab). Cycle 4 600 Puregon 8 eggs, 6 embryos, 4 biopsed - ALL Abnormal. Nothing to tranfer, end of cycle. Cycle 5 500 Puregon, didn't sniff whilst stimming Split dose, 2 injections a day, 250 morning and 250 night. Colorado Protocol, pessaries + crinone. 15 eggs, 9 embies, 3 biopsed = 1 normal, 1 abnormal and 1 inconclusive. Transferred normal compacting male & compacting inclusive embie. negative. Froze 1 non PGD'd embie that was compacting. cycle 6 500 Puregon, didn't sniff whilst stimming (started ovulating) Split dose, 2 injections a day, 250 morning and 250 night. Colorado Protocol + crinone + pessaries. 8 eggs, 7 embies Didn't update my diary, but from memory only 2 or 3 were biopsed and only 1 normal. Transferred 1 normal 10 cell and 1 7 cell untested embie Froze 1 non PGD'd embie compacting. negative. cycle 7 1st Fet. Colorado Protocol + crinone + pessaries. Both embies thawed well & transferred 1 compacting & 1 7 cell embie. I insisted on Assisted Hatching on both. +++++++ Son born Aug 9th, 2005. This is the end of our IVF journey. Fell pregnant naturally at 43 and gave birth to a son aged 44 in November 2007. JB This message was edited by JB on Friday, 21 October 2005 @ 7:28 AM |

I will share mine if you like
We had been TTC just over 2 years when we got our first BFP. I have PCOS and our specialist suspected there was some sort of 'bonding' issue. I don't ovulate naturally at all and was on Clomid for well over a year! We did 2X IUI's late last year but both BFN's. We were aiming to do half IVF/ half ICSI for our first IVF. However we only ended up with 6 eggs so they did all ICSI, 2 of them looked 'dodgy' and only 3 fertilised. At day 2 only 2 were still surviving and we put them both back for many reasons but the main one being I was scared that by freezing only 1 it wouldn't survive defrost. It was a Day 2 transfer. I had pessaries twice a day for 2 weeks after E/T and HCG injections 3 times. SO basically we are nearly 9 weeks pregnant with Twins that are the only surviving embryos from ICSI on a Day 2 Transfer. |

Thought I'd add my short and simple story:
DH has a son from ICSI with his previous partner, so we knew we were dealing with MF issues before even starting TTC. We TTC naturally for 10 cycles anyway (going to naturopath to see if that would help at all, and it didn't). When we saw the fertility specialist we were fastracked to ICSI. Type of cycle - ICSI#1 short/flare cycle (no down regulation time, no pill) Drugs - Synarel 10 days, 150 gonal-f 9 days, ovidrel trigger, 2x1500 Pregnyl injections for LP support Response - 7 eggs, 4 high quality embryos fertilised Embryo transfer - 2 (and 2 to freeze) Stage of embryo/s - 2 day Result - HCG 537 on 16 days past EPU - singleton confirmed at 7 week ultrasound. I'm currently just past 9 weeks. age - DH 37, me 34 (turned 35 two days after BFP) Reasons for doing AC - MF (count less than 2 mil, motility, morphology issues as well). |

Hi ladies, i'm only too happy to share my story...
I went off the pill at the end of January 2004. I spent the following 10 months tracking my completely irregular periods. I had cycles varying from 23 to 38 days. I was able to detect ovulation using opk's on only six out of the ten cycles. In November 2004 i consulted a spec where i was diagnosed with PCOS. All other tests came back clear, although DF's morphology was 1.5% below normal standards. In January 2005 we began IUI with injections. I took 50iu of Puregon from cycle day 5 through to 16. One follie matured, i was triggered at 4:30pm one afternoon and had the IUI at 9:30am the next morning. On days 2, 5 and 8 past IUI, i had luteal phase support injections in the form of 1200iu of Pregnyl and we are now 20 weeks pregnant. Good luck to everyone! Feel free to PM me in case all of the above sounded look goobledeegook! |

Kaysie responded in other forum, saying....
Mine isnt all that interesting ( which is a good thing).... TTC 1# 4 years.... Put on clomid while waiting for tests to be done. After Hysterosalpingogram was diagnosed with unicornuate uterus. THen I had Laporoscopy that showed that the one tube I had was kinked, so we were then told that our only hope was IVF... SO my 1st cycle in June 2003 had to be cancelled because my hormone levels werent right. my 2nd IVf cycle in July 2003 ended with my DD.... Sorry if that doesnt help much. Because my problem was not to do with hormones and just structure, the IVF is more successful. Kaysie |
