To those wonderful women with BFP's... Would you mind sharing your stats with us? You never know - we may see a pattern emerge??
Type of cycle - IUI, IVF(#?), FET(#?), ICSI etc
Drugs - Most interesting would be luteal support...?
Response - # eggs, # embryos
Embryo transfer - 1 or 2
Stage of embryo/s - 2/3 day, blast, other(?)
...and any other relevant info

My story is good for girls who have been told they have bad eggs.

I am only 5.5 weeks so very early on and plenty to go but a BFP is a good start. Beta was 132 and 6,000 at 5 weeks.

7 x IVF stim cycles
Large egg numbers (av. 18) but all poor quality embroyos
Good fertilistation - day 3 embroyos stop dividing & get fragmentation
Have had cyles with nothing good to transfer
Never had more than 2 so never had any frozen
Fairly high drug dosages - 300-450
Day 3 transfer

And on this cycle we got 3 good embroyos so transfered 2 and 1 in freezer

So what is different?

Lower drug dose of 200
Colorado protocal (usual stim IVF with extra drugs, including drugs for DH)

So I'm not sure why I am pregnant. We think it is a combination of lower level drugs and just plain good luck. Our numbers finally came up!

Congrats Tan!...your story is very encouraging to me. I had 19 eggs but only one embryo last cycle and was told it was probably old eggs. New Dr will be lowering dose and doing things differently, so here's hoping. Hope you have a wonderful pgncy.

Thanks Firniby for starting this thread...I'm very interested to see what appears. I was wondering though if you might have more replies by posting it in the "pregnant after difficulty conceiving" area? Perhaps then the information collected could be transferred back into AC? I dunno, just a thought.

Hi ladies,
I thought I would share my success story with you. After ttc for 11 yrs and having endo, ovarian cancer, only 1 ovary, 2 cysts removed from the other and to top it off MF, I am now 25w pg.
ivf/icsi#1 on 450 puregon - collected 1 egg which didn't last overnight - told to look at donor egg.
ivf/icsi#2 on 600 puregon, changed from lucrin to a drug called cetrotide and did a short cycle. - collected 4 eggs, 3 fertilised, transferred 2 (one 5 day blastocyst and one morulae). Allowed the third to hatch on day 6 to find no DNA (so wasn't holding much hope for the other 2). Now pregnant with a singleton!!!

The other thing we did was DH took a high does of Vitamin E (as advised by specialist) and ejaculated 48 hours prior to giving sample for icsi which increase his viable sperm count and motility.

The cetrotide drug was very expensive but so glad that we tried it. If this can help anyone I am more than happy to oblige and if anyone has any further questions please pm me as I am happy to discuss anything.
Cheers
Robyn
PS I am 38 and my DH is 41.

Firni, very good question! I'm keen to see stat's too from you fantastic ladies. LJV, that's also a great idea - Firniby, are you happy to start a discussion in that forum?

Robyn, whoa you had the whole gamete! Congrat's on your obviously going-strong pg. Continued good luck to you for the next half.

Hi everyone

Im happy to share my story, albeit a little shorter than some.

After 2 years TTC, a heartbreaking m/c @ 12 weeks, 6 cycles of clomid, lapy, hyst & dye studies and 1 cycle of IUI we were sitting in the sometimes frustrating category of being "unexplained".

After finishing the IUI cycle we were so "over" the whole thing that we made an appt with our RE and expressed our desire to move on - we were sick of waiting and if we were going to continue undertaking treatment and riding this rollercoaster we decided it had to be a treatment with the greatest success rate - IVF (for us).

This is how it went:

IVF # 1
150 Gonal F
5 eggs collected (as I had already started to ovulate - doh, not happy Jan)
4 eggs successfully fertilised
2 x A grade, 3 day embies transferred
2 frosties
Luteal support = Crinone

2 weeks later we received the phone call to confirm a BFP. We feel blessed every single day to have received this gift and to achieve it on our first IVF cycle is nothing short of a miracle.

I hope this helps somebody, somehow. Best wishes to all you wonderful ladies.

Miki (33)DH (34)
TTC #1 Dec 02
M/C 6/03 (12weeks)
6 x Clomid, IUI x 1
IVF # 1 - BFP Yay!
EDD 15/08/05 (DH's birthday)
